Well, I guess you know JoeyA is a good source to ask. I think Houmatroy may be able to steer you as well! :)

If I were heading in that direction I don't know where to play but I would try to meet up with Hu aka ShootingArts. I think between his knowledge of pool and Cajun cuisine you couldn't ask for a better combo.;)

Buffalo's is good for action, Corner Pocket is a decent little room owend by the Red Rifle(Jamie Farrel), but there are plenty of locals like Houmatroy and JoeyA who can give you a better idea!

LOL! I hear you're a good steer too, fun to hang out with! And if you match up the game for the other guy, the game is on! Bet what you want.

Yikes, how could I forget about Shooting Arts?! Of course, he'd be great to look up when in the area for sure. I know when I go to N'Orlins, he's on my must-see list! :)

I'll be glad to hook up with Kevin if I can but it seems JoeyA and I are exactly on the same page as far as dining or playing pool so either of us work equally well.

A funny story from when a friend came to town only for a Monday night. My favorite restaurant is closed on Monday's so I consulted Joey for up to date info on the area since he is a little closer than I am. He immediately named my first choice. "Doesn't work, they are closed Mondays." He then named my second choice. "Doesn't work, they are closed Mondays too." Seems Joey and I are exactly on the same page when it comes to seafood! There is a new place open on the lake near me but I am boycotting them since they messed up my favorite lakefront view.

Rocky And Carlos' ,I believe, is closed on Monday. It is on St. Bernard Highway in Chalmette. The food used to be INCREDIBLE. The food is still top notch and well worth the drive. I used to come from New Orleans East to eat there at least twice a month. Buffs is on Airline right after Causeway if your coming from New Orleans. Very nice place. Corner Pocket is on Williams by Veterans but at night and on the weekends it is a lot of young kids(including myself) and obnoxious people.

Kevin,
Tuesday Night is the small but FREE pool tournament at Buffalo Billiard in Metairie, LA (suburbs of New Orleans and the closest pool room to Harrah's Casino, for you to test your mettle against some of the locals. It's 9 ball, race to 1, DE and handicapped if you have the stomach or time. :) Buffalo Billiards 504-836-0590

Just around the corner is Metairie Seafood and just around the corner from that is The Galley on Metairie Road, another local favorite sefood restaurant.

I'm subject to be at Buffalo's most any night but while I won't give up anyone's speed (I know you didn't ask)but I can tell you where you might find a game for fun or profit. (Buffalo's or maybe Corner Pocket 504-469-2003 in Kenner, LA). If you visit Buff's be sure and say hi.

Good luck in the World Series of Poker.
