Ignacio Chavez, "the Mexican". Also known as Pedro, Jesse, Nacho.

One of the most solid, consistent players around. IMO one of the Top 3 Safe players in the WORLD. None of the *NYC crowd can beat him imo.

Where is he hanging out now Mike? I just got a camera.

*except Mika ATM and that is far from a sure thing. When Mika isnt playing like God, I like IC

He's an intimidating looking fellow. Sort of reminds me of a mexican version of a mobster. I bet his pool game is even scarier.

Nostroke summed it up pretty well.

Ignacio Chavez. Also known as Jesse Padilla, Nacho, and most commonly "The Mexican". He has one of the best cueballs I've ever seen. His control is unbeleivably precise. Came to our local room once and gave one of our stronger players the 5... and destroyed him. Then his buddy (only name I have of his is Burrito) played the room owner... an open/pro level player a race to 9. Burrito grabbed a house cue off the wall. He beat our guy 9-1 in about 25 minutes!

He does not look at all intimidating in person. Looks like the nice guy that he is. I know him 3-4 years, seen him play plenty of times and I've never heard him raise his voice.

He is always 'tired' and seems to play best that way. Dont let that scare you.

I hope he is doing well and im sure he is. Tell him, his second home is calling. I think DAZ will be here for 1-2 months-maybe starting in July so he will have a game.

Good to know, because he sure as hell looks intimidating in this picture :p

(he'd look even scarier if he wasnt wearing the colorful yellow 9ball shirt)

Mmmm... I dunno about not looking intimidating in person.

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but he appears a bit intimidating in person. Sort of the quiet, brooding type of intimidating.

The photos were taken by Jorge Torres of ProPoolVideo fame at the Jacksonville 10-ball championship in May of 2007, with some others from a tourney and match-up with Tony Crosby in April of 2007; and finally two photos taken by Wei from the 2008 Straight Pool Championship. Does anyone have photos of Chavez from Valley Forge?

My buddy matched up with nacho jesse Ingacio Chavez in St Pete Florida. They agreed to post up two sets. Played on a super super tough Gold crown. The first set was 9-8 IC wins. The second was 9-8 IC wins. My buddy made one mistake( missed 1 ball ) in 34 total games. Chavez played 2 sets without making a single mistake. Even though we booked a loser it was some of the best pool I have ever seen. He is a good guy to gamble with but you better bring a champion or get the break and a monster spot.

My first look at Chavez came at the 2008 World 14.1 Championships. For a guy who doesn't really play 14.1, he sure showed plenty of game. I believe he finished tied for 9th and gave eventual champion Feijen a tough match in the single elimination stage. I was very impressed.

I have on two occasions seen him give up weight, playing good players, in 9 ball. I aint trying to knock any action for him. Most on here knows how he plays.
