Does anyone out there know anything about these cues?? He does some things that are out of the norm such as he recommends cue length to vary with your height.. Smaller shaft sizes on his "prodigy" shafts.
Not knocking the cues, just curious if anyone has any experience with them.. They are quite pricey too!
Any info would be appreciated.

Que Perfect Cues/Ronnie Powell is a member of our International Cuemakers Association. His claim to fame is using really tight grain shaft wood, turning them very slowly and making his cues produce a ton of English. We have never received a single complaint about his cues or craftsmanship. He has had run ins with other cuemakers from over there and here, but we have had no customer complaints. He has a very intense personality, but seems to build a great cue.

His site says Efren will be using his cue (actually the site says it about 100times) so I guess the solidity of the cue and hit are top quality. They look great.

Actually, if I had the means and the time, I'd seriously consider paying him the $8k for the cue building training he talks about on his site. Looks like he knows what he's doing to me.

Doesn't the high density, high grain count of his prodigy shafts work against the logic behind a low (cue ball) deflection shaft? That is, if the end mass of the shaft is proportional to the deflection of the cue ball, how is it that this guy is getting denser wood to get less cue ball deflection?

that just means that the wood is more stable and has better memory, the wood is older and stronger. if Pedator made their shafts out of wood that was very old growth, they could bore a larger hole reducing more mass, thereby reducing deflection. i am not saying QP shafts have holes bored in them, i am just making a point, i dont know what Ronnie does to reduce deflection.

i have a qp and a Pedator with a z shaft. Ronnies shaft beats a z shaft hands down. it has less deflection and better feel. i am not nocking predators product, they are very good. they started an industrial revolution in cue shaft performance. my only complaint is that Predator ferrules are very soft plastic. that may be OK on a $20 cue with a screw on tip, but it doesn't belong on a $200 shaft.

Ronnie knows what he is doing, if any of you guys are tall like me get a longer cue, or at least a longer shaft. i am 6'1" and i shoot with a 64" QP it just makes sense, he is relatively unknown but he knows his s***. i am not pushing his cues on anyone, but he will build a longer cue than anyonethat im aware of, that is why i bought one of his cues over a year ago. i figured even if it didn't help me shoot better, it sure as hell couldnt make me play any worse.

I was suprised to see more positive input than what I had expected. A couple of years ago when I was looking for another unknown (but possibly magic) cue, I spent several hours reading through his website, and I decided against ordering from him as a result of the crap that he had on his site. At the time, his whole site was pretty much dedicated to knocking off other makers, and revealing what he called 'inside' bad information about sloppy work by others. I was also turned off by the claim (even then) that Efren thinks his cues are the best, as every cue maker from the PI I've ever known will claim that Efren used one of his cues at one time or another, and claimed it to be the best cue he'd ever laid his hands on...........................but I've always wondered then why have I never seen him with one?
The Qperfect guy seemed more interested in providing details about how bad other makers were, rather than explaining why his product is better. If he does in fact make such a great cue, then good for him, but I've never seen one in anybodys hands, and with the exception of the AZ member that posted here, have never heard of anybody using one, so that is good enough indication to me as to how well his cues sell.

over here in germany i know three guys who have QPs, and they are all very happy with the cues.
I was able to check and play the cues.
They craftmanship of the inlays, etc.. is very good, nothing to complain.(i have seen much worse work from better known/rated makers)
The "magic" shafts he does are indeed something from another planet, but you must get used to them. (same as predator stuff) either you like em or you hate em.
indeed reading through his website you must get the feeling that he is a very different personality
I neither own one nor intend to buy one one day so you can take this post as quite objective

Eccentricity is an hallmark of greatness???

Anyway i think his cue probably plays good, but on his site, he sounds so gimmicky like Arnot's web site, sometimes it just puts people off.

he has made fewer than 100 cues, and several of the people own more than one. i think many go to Singapore.

Very true. I went through his website which has gone through a few revisions over the years. It was horrible. He just bashes everyone that do not agree with him and claims that others (especially the Filipinos) are the worst. This guy is pathetic and an ODD DUCK. Hails from Louisiana and transported himself to various parts of Asia and eventually settled in the Philippines were he finds treasure troves of exotic woods that he pays hardly nothing for compared to had he been paying for them at market price. He then magically turns it into 'super spin' sticks that he sells for thousands. He claims to be the only one doing all the work in his cues and no one else. I'd like to see him in action doing the scrimshaws and see how good he says he is.

QUESTION: Does anyone know of a player, amateur or pro, man or woman, that shot with a QP cue and won a major tournament? Won consistently with it?

It's ironic as to how bad he bashes the Philippines and the Filipinos and yet he chooses to stay there where purportedly he had death threats and a price for his head. Makes the reader wonder why this guy sticks around when he presumably finds the place horrible. Isn't that odd? Thus, he's an ODD DUCK. Must be the years spent binging on pot in Vietnam and a case of Vietnam rose. Bad part is the rose is in the big head :D

N.B. Many a player put too much emphasis on cues to improve their game, hoping that the next cue is the magic wand that will win the big one. Not quite, the cue is only a tool. Talent, dedication and HEART makes the big part of it.

I have a friend that has two of his cue's.I have had the chance to play with one and all I can say is I love the way it played.I would love to own one of his cues but I just can't see spending that much on a cue at this time.I would say he is kind of weird and hard to deal with.I am not sure you will ever see Efren with one of his cues I think they had some problems and don't think he went through with the deal.

Joe...QP cues are VERY well made. They are made by an American living in the P.I., and his work is, as his name states, perfect. I have a friend with one of his cues, and it plays well, and looks fantastic.

Ronnie Powell is OK & his cues are great. He is no different than you or I, if someone jacks with you or is lying about you or your peoduct, you pitch a fit.

People that purchase his cues, sometimes buy more than one, that speaks volumes for his quality control & his customer satisfaction.
