I rotate all of my cues as well. I've played the most with my Skip Weston though. I'm now using the ER and from time to time I'll use the Gilbert J/B. I'm getting a Varney SP either today or tomorrow so I'll be looking forward to trying that out!

I play with all my cues but so far the 2 that I'm most
comfortable playing 1 hole with are my Dave Kikel &
my Jeff Olney. I like a different type of stick for 8 ball:
Coker or J. Pechauer.
Other one pocket sticks I like are Meucci Original,
Bender, Tim Scruggs, Keith Josey, Dale Perry.
Other 8 ball stiks I like are Joss & Russ Espiritu.

I have Cues from THREE Different builders. This week I am Playing with a Plane Jane Ted Harris (www.tedharris.com) Cocobolo Cue that weight 18.4 OZ.... I bought the Cue Pre Owned, and hate to leave it sit too long.

I rotate my playing cues Weekly. All are wonderful, but my Favorite is Pictured Below.

A Cue I submitted a Design for, and Jack Madden built to my Design Specifications. It came out 110% Perfect...

I play with a warped Adam cue.
I used to play with a guy who played with an older Meucci cue that had a slightly warped butt. The fellow played awesome pool and the warped butt didn't bother him at all!

Break cue: Xbreaker
2x4 Justis

Just got the xbreaker the other day and I am really impressed not only with this cue but the customer service behind it. The bumper fell out the first day I played with it and when I emailed Richard about this he sent me out a new bumper plus weight bolt screws to change the weight and one other item for the cue which I still dont know what it does.

3 Playing Cues...

McDermott (I recently went production again after years of custom)
Bailarin Custom Cue (made for me in 1996)
Hagan Custom Cue (made for me in 1991)

The Hagan doesn't get as much action as the other two, but to me the Bailarin and the McDermott are failry interchangeable.

Playing with the cue that is my avatar.....Skip Weston. Plays like a dream, perfect weight, perfect balance. If I am out and not comfortable with where I have to play, I will use my Allers SP...which is normally my breaker. Both are different varieties of rosewood. I really prefer the hit of it over the ebony.

I actually play with a Steve Mizerak cue, do you guys know these? It's a marble 19oz. cue. It's my first cue, i didn't really know much about pool cues before, but it seems to be a real good cue. My instructor tried it a bit and told me it was perfect, also, a AA player played a bit with it, and he told me he loved it, maybe a bit more than his own... haha... They told me that me cue was great for spins (english and TS and BS). I've already noticed that, but hearing that from a AA or a PRO player is really cool. There's just one thing, my tip is quite hard, so the blue chalk doesn't stay that much on the tip, I think I should change it soon.

Have used my own shafts for years, they play wonderful. This cue is a newer '06 that did have 3 (sold the OB-1 to my buddy) shafts. Just an attempt to try some of the newer shafts since they are in such high demand. I'm currently, little by little, working on my new cue...it'll have my hard rock maple 1pc shafts & Ivorine 4 instead of Aegis...with Snipers of course!

The Avatar say's it all. I also have a tricked out Lucasi that I've had for 5 1/2 years. The Predator SE-3 is the only cue that made me put it down, it has a custom leather wrap and also a custom matched Predator Z shaft. I was offered $600.00 for it and turned it down. What can I say I've been through alot of battles with it and can't seem to let it go, even though I rarely take it out of the case anymore.

Peace, Black Cat:cool:

I personally have never liked laminated shafts from cuemakers. Takes a little bit away from the art. Well I mean the ones who have their cues standard with them. I understand to have them as an option but not really a standard. I love the way you are saying that you are going to have 1 piece hard rock maple. I would be more than intrigued when your final result comes out. Well do you use a big pin? I have yet to see the joint of one of your cues.

I have been using pretty much only the "big pin" for years. Brass, Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, G10, all in 3/8 - 10. I often use Radial pins as well. Very few of my cues will have any other joint. Yes, lams are an upgrade option. My hardrock maple shafts are standard. Believe me...I wish they did not upgrade...the shafts are so expensive, it actually hurts my slim profit margin.

I knock balls around with a Robinson. (At my skill level calling what I do "playing pool" would be an insult to the game of pool.) I like it a lot but it's probably a little too much cue for my game. Plus I'm not a big fan of metal joints in general.

I've got a ZCC Sneaky Z on order and I'm trying to save up some funds for a Varney*.

My principal playing cue is a Phillipi. I have won more tourny's with it than any other cue I have ever had. Mostly I use this cue for my 8 & 9 ball playing. I have an ivory jointed Coker - very fancy - that I use for Straight Pool and 1 pocket. I also have a Runde for backup when things just aren't going my way with one of the 1st 2 cues.

How's the Annie-O shaft? I've read some interesting things about it from her site but didn't know anyone who owns one. How's it compare to a Predator shaft?

I have not used the Predator.

I did get an OB-1 shaft for my Mottey cue recently, and prefer the diameter and hit of the Annie O 35-layer shaft. The Annie O shaft seems to hit straight in shots with better frequency. I would definately recommend this shaft and plan to get some more.
