This cue was in my house from the previous owner, the previous owner built the house originally in 1971. This cue has been in here since the mid to late 1970's when the owners bought a pool table. It looks like a standard house cue at first but I have been thinking about turning it into a really nice custom cue (well I would not do it but my local cue maker maybe). The butt on this cue is quite thick, I have a joss next to it in one of the photos. Please Help identify the wood........Thanks Gary

carry it to the cuemaker,,,ask his opinion,,,

frankly, I wouldn't bother converting to a two piece unless you want to end up with a $15 dollar cue, but spend a lot more in the process,,,most older pool rooms have dozens just like the cue in the picture, in various states of disrepair,,,NOT a keeper............JMHO
