View Full Version : Update: Joss Event at Snooker's Pool Lounge in Providence, RI

The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour (http://www.josscues.com/html/tour.html) is at Snooker's Pool Lounge (http://www.snookerspoollounge.com/) in Providence, RI this weekend with 44 players competing for a $5,520 total prize fund.

Some notable players in the field include Sean Morgan, Shin Park, Bob Begey, Tony Ruberto, Mike Dechaine, Joe Tucker, Ray MacNamara, Dave Fernandez, Jason Michas, Tom McGonagle and Mike Zuglan.

They are down to the final eight players and Sunday’s matches starting at noon are;

On the Winners Side:
Mike Dechaine vs Jay McCaughey
Dave Fernandez vs Paul Dryden

On the One Loss Side:
Sean Morgan vs Tony Ruberto
Shin Park vs Bob Begey

Also, Mike Zuglan is taking entries for the recently announced Turning Stone Classic 9-Ball Open (http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.cfm?storynum=3832) events scheduled for February 22th thru 25th, 2007 and August 16th thru 19th, 2007 respectively, at the beautiful Turning Stone Casino (http://www.turning-stone.com/) in Verona, NY.

These $25,000 added events will surely fill fast and are limited to the first 128 paid entries. Both events require a pre-entry and you MUST contact Mike Zuglan to enter!

Remember, the previous seven Turning Stone (http://www.turning-stone.com/) events were filled to capacity with many players being "shut out", so enter early!

The Turning Stone (http://www.turning-stone.com/) is a non-alcohol serving casino which means you only need to be 18 to gamble on the casino floor. All ages are welcome in the Event Center and spectator admission is FREE.

They were down to the final eight players and Sunday’s matches starting at noon were;

and then Jay McCaughey over Dave Fernandez 9-7

Jay McCaughey was in the hot seat!

On the One Loss Side;
Bob Begey over Shin Park 9-7
Tony Ruberto over Sean Morgan 9-8

then:

Paul Dryden over Bob Begey 9-8
Mike Dechaine over Tony Ruberto 9-6

and then:

Paul Dryden over Mike Dechaine 9-7

then:

Dave Fernandez over Paul Dryden 9-4

So then it came down to Jay McCaughey and Dave Fernandez in the finals.., true Double Elimination Format.

Dave Fernandez defeated Jay McCaughey in the first set. 9-6

Then, Jay McCaughey defeated Dave Fernandez in the final set. 9-7

Excellent report as always Dana. You couldn't have asked for three finer gentlemen to fill the top spots, They all shook hands, wished each other well. They just wanted to play pool.
