Dave,
This is turning into a very unforgiving forum - Jay is NEVER going to live this one down. Here is a link to the thread that has already discussed it - Jay admits to his folly in betting against Danny D.

P.S. - For those that haven't tried it; it is difficult to throw a golf ball even 30 or 40 yards. Try for more and you are VERY likely to injure your elbow or shoulder. Danny D. is a freak of nature.

YEAH YEAH YEAH. It really happened. I only bet ONCE though. It was the other guys who took a second shot, not me. I saw the light the first time.
I will say it one more time for all to hear. I watched Danny through a perfect 110 yard field goal with a golf ball. A regular golf ball from my own bag.

He beat me and a few other guys throwing rocks at bottles also, on another occasion. He was breaking bottles from 50'. Try that sometime. Danny is WITHOUT DOUBT the greatest athlete ever to play pool. Bowling - 200+ average, Boxing - World class contender, Baseball - Candidate for the big leagues. I'm sure he would have excelled at any sport he tried.

He wasn't a bad pool player either, no one ever had more heart than Danny under pressure.

I'm embarrassed. Sorry - I didn't know it was discussed already. I was sitting here laughing so hard, I couldn't wait to ask you about it. I didn't mean to pour salt on an old wound.

It's ok... years ago... I lost $200 to someone flipping quarters in the parking lot of a pool hall. It was going back and forth for a while until he broke me. Later I found he had a double-headed quarter he'd use since I always called tails. That guy and I are friends today, he earned the money. We all step into one. What made Danny's story so funny was the "timing" w/ the golf on TV - and Jack hitting the shot short. Good setup.
