Here are a few photos that I took from the Monday and Wednesday sessions at the recent World Straight Pool Championship. I didn't get everybody but did get a decent sampling of players.

I can only upload five files per post so I will be uploading more as time permits.

Enjoy.

Stephen

Does anyone know how to get the photos to show up visible in the post rather than as links. I have more photos to post but want to do it so that they are more easily viewed.

Thanks.

Stephen

You will have to upload them to a host service like Photobucket

http://photobucket.com/

Once you join, you upload the pictures to the host, and each picture will be assigned a URL -

when you post the picture, click the yellow box on the tool menu, and you paste the link. You can post quite a few at a time... when you post it, the pictures will show up - just like this...

Mine show up and all I do is attach them to the post like below (FYI... picture credit goes to www.funny.co.uk)

I think there is a limit as to how many I can upload. I am sure I'll probably have to delete some sooner or later. FWIW, I can't post the list of file names like you guys do. LOL

Stephen,
Many thanks for the fine photos, I enjoyed them.

Just make a new "reply" with each picture. If you link just one photo per "reply", then it will show up as a photo rather than a link.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have about 40 more pics to upload so doing them one at a time would be a bear to work through.

I'll either upload 5 at a time or use a photo service or CueTablePL when I get a chance later today or tomorrow (time permitting).

Unfortunately (again?) I don't have any pics of Huidji See. I didn't get everyone, which I now reget, but at least I got a few good ones (pics that is).

In any event, here are 5 more. Enjoy!

As you can see I took too many pics of Thomas Engert and not enough of the other players. He and John Schmidt were my favorite players from the tournament.

In my defense, it was difficult to follow 8 matches at a time - to both enjoy the games and exquisite skill level and take pics at the same time.

I did miss out on many other good and great players so next time I will make a serious attempt at getting everyone represented.

I had a great time at this tournament. The flip side of pool not being a major sport, like basketball, is that we fans can get to meet and, in some small way, get to know the players. I for one am happy that is the case.

In any event, enjoy the pics.

These are really high quality and well-done. Is it just a hobby? You take pics like a pro and I'm sure any pool mag would buy these, and many would make great posters.

Jasmin and Niels make great poster-people for straight pool, and they both look so scary. Niels especially.
