I?m feeling a little bit helpless here and need your quick advice.

The member "TheDiamond" helped me in a Thread here with an information.
I wanted to thank him and clicked the rep button.

You must know english is not my native tongue. I thought the reputation button is good. He send me a pm and wants me of course to take that out.

How can i clear this matter.
He helped me and i put him in trouble here.

I am really sorry for his inconvenience.
Need your advice pls

If you clicked "Rep", that's the correct button. After you click that, you can choose, "I approve", or "I disapprove". The default is "I approve", so you probably did it correctly.

Now, if he goes and clicks the rep button on his own post, he will see either a green dot, a red dot, or a grey dot. I gave you some rep for your post, so go ahead and try it. The green and red are self-explanatory. The grey one happens when a new user gives you good rep.

So it could be that you didn't have any rep yet, making the rep you give, gray.
