Do handicapped leagues & tourneys hinder personal advanment?

exactly my point. Just hitting the balls around doesn't make you better. You need pressure to make diamonds.

Do handicapped leagues & tourneys hinder personal advanment?

Definitely not blaming the 2 for being a 2. Just saying they aren't even a remote threat, so I can't get mentally geared up for a hard game. I KNOW it's going to be a cake walk, and that's the problem. I need people to shoot back at me to make me concentrate. Besides, it's not a lot of fun...

Do handicapped leagues & tourneys hinder personal advanment?

I'm of the opinion that handicap tourney's DO hinder personal growth, but maybe not for the reason you may be thinking. I'll explain. I play in most of the local tourney's we have here. Thursday 8-ball on bar boxes. Friday 9 ball on 9 footers. Sometimes Sunday 9-ball on bar boxes. I spot...

Rip-off Report on Glen, The Real King Cobra "UPDATE"

Highroller, you MIGHT want to point out your rant threads here on AZ to your attorney and see if he remains involved. Awfully close to libel here guy. I have zero interest other than the entertaining threads, but if you honestly file suit, you have to have all bases covered and these threads in...

True statement. If you never play folks better than you are, you will NEVER progress.

GSBT August 11-12 $1500 added amateur 9-ball at MBC in Marietta, GA

Marge - where to stay while in Atlanta? Any hotels nearby offering a discount?

Apa tournament.. Do I have the right to be a little pissed?

Regardless of the reason, quitting a match is NOT the way to go. Play it out no matter what the outcome, even if the LO or tournament director or whoever else is wrong in their call. Write it off and keep marching... IMHO

How are you going to improve your pool game for 2012?

Was able to get a new table (new to me) recovered in 860, and I'm able to practice with resolve at least an hour a day. It's already getting my stroke back in shape and the consistency is getting to where I want it to be. I'm hoping that a year from now I can scare some higher ranked players...

I can see now why extended stay is popular. It's within walking distance to Michaels. Booked!

How are you going to improve your pool game for 2012?

I will be moving my tv and entertainment center stuff to a different room, and putting in either a properly setup Brunswick or a diamond proAm. I'm ready to get to the next level, but need to be able to practice every day to get the consistency I need to make more event finals. That's the plan...

    Cutting up the pot

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in my view. I've had guys come up at the end of more than a few local tourneys and ask to split (even when the amounts are pitiful) and it gets on my nerves. When the same thing happens at a tourney where "pro's" are fellow players, it sincerely bothers me...

    Cutting up the pot

Am I the only one who thinks that splitting the pot at the end is the lamest thing ever done? I sincerely wish there was some sort of sanctioning body in pool that could levy fines or ban players for doing this sort of thing. It's no different than a boxer taking a dive or a ball player...
