    Do you have to call the 8 ball?

    Do you have to call the 8 ball even if it is obvious? Do you loose the game if you dont call the 8 ball ? I have been playing for 30 years now and have always had to call the 8 ball and if not and you pocket the 8 ball you loose the game. NEED INFO on this. Thank you all.
