    birdseye,curly,quilted...

Hmmm...if curls are caused by compression, then I would think someone could theoretically induce curly figure by adding weight to a growing tree. Has anyone ever tried this? It would be pretty awesome to have guaranteed curly figure, it will bring the prices down so that everyone can have some...

    birdseye,curly,quilted...

Hi, I was wondering if any of you here know what causes wood to become figured in one of those ways in the subject? I'm almost 100% certain that you can't just go buy some birdseye maple seeds and plant some BEM trees. I've heard that trees that grow on hills will get the "curly" figure...

    WOW #4 Bloodwood

Thanks man. The actual drawing took maybe only 1-2 hours. Trying different design elements, tinkering with the look, then trying deciding on a final design, that took like another 6 hours...hehe :p I had lots of time back then :D Sorry this is a little off topic! I'd love to learn more...

    Cue Design - Points

Did the cuemakers decide to join different woods because they realized the importance of the weight and balance of a cue or because of aesthetic reasons? Thanks! Tim.

    WOW #4 Bloodwood

All I know about bloodwood is that if you need a nice, clean, red base color, it would be the number one pick, like a what ebony is to someone who wants a black base color. I drew this on photoshop a while back, some of you may still remember it: Tim.

    Image test

I can't tell what the scale of those stocks are in real life, but from the pictures the piece of curly pink ivory looks a little short for a handle to me, what's it actually like Joey? It sure would look great, and I've never seen curly pink ivory period let alone in a cue. Tim.

Mmmmm...I think that one's quite far off from the drawing, but thanks for looking out! Plus the taper of the shaft on that Mike Erwin cue looks to be much too 'Pro' for my liking. Tim.

    Cue Design Theft?

http://www.excues.com/eXcues/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=8581 The link is to a Taiwanese billiards forum, I'm sure most of you can't read the Chinese, but this post has pictures of many Gina cues along with the pricing. I'm not trying to say anything here, that has been done on the other thread...

Hi, Chris Do you know which animal's antlers are used in Zylr cues? And which aspects of this design would be the most problematic? Other than obtaining the antler material, I'm guessing the recut holly and those rings which need to be inlaid. Thanks. Tim.

Seems like tan leather isn't so popular! I actually tried a brown leather wrap as well, but I'm liking how the tan gives the cue an overall lighter tone. I don't know about the strength of antler joints or joint collars actually! I just really like how it looks, and according to the responses...

Hello there, I have a new cue design and I wish to ask for a quote from some cuemakers. I didn't know who to ask specifically, that's why i'm posting here. Here's the design: Here are the specs: 4 bloodwood points into bloodwood forearm with black veneer, and recut holly Bloodwood butt...
