Vafaei misses the pink leaving himself 19 ahead and with 13 remaining.

And Selby decided to play on despite the fact he needed a snooker, which is probably really hard to do with only 2 balls on the table.

Came really close a few times.
I was down 35 points once with only the 6 and 7 balls left on the table and managed to win the game. My opponent was not a world champion, though.

What was this rule about?
Snooker has many of these bizarre rules that even players like Ronnie are clueless 😂
...
For those who don't know the rule... If you can hit a red full ball when playing reds, you must hit a red within three tries or you lose the frame. Ronnie could just get through the window and go straight at a red. Now, another snooker rule comes into play. He could not actually hit the red he could go straight towards because another red blocked the full-ball contact. But at snooker, you cannot be snookered by a red when playing a red. That means you have to imagine, in turn for each red, only one red left on the table. In that imaginary situation, it was possible for Ronnie to go through the window between pink and brown to make full contact.

Note that the rule for being snookered is different. You are snookered on a ball when you cannot hit both extreme edges of the ball. In the situation in the video, Ronnie was snookered on the red on which he could make full-ball contact because the pink was in the way of hitting the red all the way on the right side (from our viewpoint).

Trump/O'Sullivan starts as soon as they get the equipment cleaned.

They had hoped to start this two hours ago but the Selby/Vafaei took a while. Vafaei could have forced a decider with one more good shot.

Hossein won the world amateur at the age of 17. Iran has a thriving snooker community.

Trump misses the last red and goes back to his seat up 101-0 in the frame.

Ronnie steps up to the table, and the commentator says, "If he makes this red, the black and the remaining colors that's 35 points. So he would just need 17 snookers."

I lol'd

And Jack, looking tighter and tighter - understandably so against a boa constrictor.

Selby in first now in 10th frame. Mid-frame, Hendry describes him (Selby) as an "animal".

Edit: And, Selby breaks down on 52. Jack still has life in this frame.

Jack clinches with great recovery pot on last red in frame 10. Final score line: Jack - 6, Selby - 4.

While we're waiting for the next tournament, here's Ronnie's 10th maximum, condensed. The scenario is a little like Babe Ruth pointing at the wall.

Ronnie passed Stephen Hendry's record for 147s with this.

i liked the one where o’sullivan was playing ding junhui a few years ago and he easily had a 147, but after faking a shot to go for the blue towards the end, making everyone in the crowd gasp, he made a pink instead of a black and settled for a 146. that time they couldn’t force him to shoot the final 147 because it wasn’t there😊

I think the 146 was more memorable for the crowd than a 147 -- a 147 that was refused. Maybe the only one.
