Here are some stats from the single-elimination portion of the 2021 American Straight Pool Championship played October 19-23 at Q-Master Billiards in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Free streaming was provided on the Facebook page "American 14.1 Straightpool Championship." Joshua Filler won the event, defeating Fedor Gorst in the final match.

Six matches were streamed on the feature table for this portion of the event. For one of those matches, #2 listed below, the stream went down well before the end of the match, so the stats are mainly for 5 of those 6 matches, representing 22% of the 23 matches played in this portion of the event. The first of those 5 matches was played on Thursday, October 21, the next two on Friday, Oct. 22, and the last two on Saturday, Oct. 23. All of the single-elimination matches were to 150 points.

This portion of the event was preceded by a group stage (8 groups of 6), with round-robin play in each group. Twenty-four players, the top 3 in each group, advanced to the single-elimination stage. The top player from each group received a bye in the first single-elimination round.

For similar information on the matches streamed on the feature table in the round-robin portion of the event, see this thread: https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...pionship-round-robin-matches-oct-2021.536158/

The conditions for this event included:
- Diamond 9-foot table with blue Simonis cloth;
- Aramith Tournament balls with a measles cue ball;
- triangle rack;
- rack your own;
- foul on all balls;
- no shot clock; and
- lag for opening break.

Attempted Scoring Innings means the player's total number of innings for the game minus the number of innings that he played only a safety or an intentional foul (no attempt to score a point).

PPI is Points Per Inning = total points scored in the game divided by the total number of innings in the game for that player. [Note: I call this measure Points Per Inning rather than Balls Per Inning to be a bit more precise in the definition, since the number of points a player is credited with in a game can be quite different from the number of balls he pocketed.]

PPASI is Points Per Attempted Scoring Inning = total points scored in the game divided by the number of Attempted Scoring Innings in the game for that player.

All information is given first for the match winner and then for the match loser (separated by a comma).

Joshua Filler defeated Fedor Gorst 150 - 89 today in the final match of the 2021 American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship. Here is how the game went, inning by inning.

Scores in brackets are for Gorst (G) first (since he shot the opening break), then Filler (F). References to "left" and "right" sides of the table are as the player looks from the head of the table to the foot.

G1 (Gorst inning #1) -- opening safety break from right side, leaving the 11-ball out on the right side of the rack and the cue ball nearly on the head rail.
F1 -- started with the long, straight-in 11-ball and ran 42, then scratched in the left foot pocket on a 2-ball break shot that was high to the left side of the rack. [0 - 41]

G2 -- ran 4, then missed the 10-ball on a fairly thin cut along the foot rail to the right foot pocket. [4 - 41]
F2 -- ran 10, then missed a fairly long 4-ball break shot that was quite high to the left side of the rack. [4 - 51]

G3 -- ran 14, then missed a 13-ball break shot that was slightly high to the left side of the rack. [18 - 51]
F3 -- ran 15, then missed a long, nearly straight-in 14-ball to the right foot pocket. [18 - 66]

G4 -- ran 55, then scratched on a 15-ball break shot to the right of the rack, following it off the pile into the right foot pocket. [72 - 66]
F4 -- ran 42, then scratched in the left side pocket off the top of the rack while making a 4-ball break shot that was slightly high to the right of the rack. [72 - 107]

G5 -- ran 18, then scratched in the left side pocket while making the 4-ball in the right side pocket and sending the cue ball off the head rail. [89 - 107]
F5 -- ran 43 and out. [89 - 150]
