Every one of these agencies except the CDC needs to be dissolved.
They have become to large and powerful. Most notably the EPA.

Are the ones made by Madison Ave for the corporations that sell that crap any better?

I imagine that it's suitable for it's target audience...if it works, it succeeded.

Lyrics:
I'm a Mystic Man
I'm just a Mystic Man

I man don't
I don't drink no champagne
No I don't
And I man don't
I don't sniff them cocaine
Choke brain

I man don't
No I don't
Don't take a morphine
Dangerous

I man don't
I don't take no heroin
No no no

(CHORUS)
'Cause I'm a man of the past
And I'm livin' in the present
And I'm walking in the future
Stepping in the future
Man of the past
And I'm livin' the present
And I'm walking in the future

I'm just a mystic man
Got to be a mystic man

I man don't
Eat up your fried chicken
Not lickin'

I man don't
Eat up them frankfurters
Garbage

I man donít
Eat down the hamburger
canít do that
I man donít
Drink pink, blue, yellow, green soda(CHORUS) :D

Just a mystic man
Got to be a mystic man

I man don't
No I don't
Play fools' games on Saturday

And I man don't
No I don't
Congregate on a Sunday

Such a mystic man
Just a mystic man

(CHORUS)

Just a mystic man
Got to be a mystic man

To me massively "over-producing" any grown and harvested product implies an action that results in the availability of that product massively exceeding the demand which almost always result in financial loss to the grower of that product.

Probably I'm missing something that should be obvious to me, but I'm struggling to see how more dollars can be the end of result of the US Govt massively "over-producing" corn, other than perhaps more dollars for those who can buy corn cheaper, if cheaper corn is the result of "over-producing".

Is that what you were implying?

If yes, presumably it inludes the follow-on implied suggestion that individuals in the Govt are being paid backhanders by the buyers of corn for continuing to influence farmers crop growing strategies to increase corn production beyond the level of normal demands.

Would the list of parties paying these bribes also include all the foreign countries who benefit from being able to buy American corn on the international corn markets cheaper than they ought to be able to or are they just lucky incidental beneficiaries of someone else's bribery?

I actually wasn't implying any large-scale conspiracy (this time), I was pointing out a verifiable fact.

Corn is a very malleable product, it can be broken down and modified into just about anything. The same substance is food, sugar, syrup and fuel for vehicles. It's included in many products that have no business containing corn: wheat bread, jell-o, and a thousand other things.

Because of its versatility, it is used in many products when a more reasonable alternative is available, albeit slightly more expensive. (Even if it isn't the healthiest option for the consumer; therefore dollars > lives.)

Understood.....what's still not understood is how "massively over-producing corn" (if over-producing means producing more than is necessary to meet all the different market/industry demands) can result in "more dollars"....surely massively over- producing any harvested crop means" less dollars"?..... wouldn't more dollars actually be made if they didn't massively over-produce?

Am I being thick and missing something obvious? It wouldn't be the first time that's for sure :)

I'm just of the ilk that doesnt think its necessary for the government to give me eating advice.

A good portion of Americans are gluttonous slobs with or without this ad.

The imagery wasn't really what bothered me, it was the complete fabricated lie that "drinking a soda a day will make you gain 10lbs in a year." Its like Reefer Madness, but directed at Soda. People are smart enough to know when they are being lied to. Lie to them enough, and they just stop listening. Look at the Drug War.

Im all for promoting good health, but demonizing companies like Coca Cola (with my money none the less) isn't going to do it.

I'm going to start my own personal health commercials...

"Put down the fork and get your ass on a treadmill."

Time to enjoy my delicious Sushi and a Water for lunch. =]
