Since the spot-to-spot shot is slightly thinner than a 45-degree cut, the actual hit required is very close to quarter-ball, which would be a quarter of 2.25 inches outside the object ball.

I think he set the record on a 9-foot GC. Of course that could have had 5-inch pockets. It was in 1988 in a Florida pool hall.

He is placing the cue ball too far towards the center of the table for a half-ball hit. His stick should be passing over some part of the corner pocket. This is pretty simple geometry and he got it...

You mean Spot Shot Kenny. There's a video of him shooting spot shots. He puts the cue ball on the head spot. I don't think Kenny has ever posted here.
