I only read the first page so maybe my info is already shared. Predator made their "robot" first. It was made partly out of wood and when Meucci made his out of aluminum, with some precision bearings...

I use the flat part for most measuring. I use the ground ends for measuring grooves and scratching lines to find exact centers when drilling holes on a drill press or mill.

Just because most inserts have a large lip diameter of .500 does not mean the final pilot will be .500. As many use the wood or phenolic under the brass lip to create the exact size pilot they want.

I am sorry you are so upset you cannot sleep. Their are some really good ways to calm down so you can sleep. Try counting backwards and saying deeper in between each number. It used to work for me...

The new ones I just got look like the ones on the left. Nice grey/blue color instead of the brownish. Hopefully they will be like this from now on.
