one a year!

Sounds like about one inlay a year. A shame, one of the finest cues I have ever seen and shot with was a Bender.

I like this

I like the way you worked through this. $80 puts player B even on everything including table time and perhaps a beer or two. The only reason I can think of for that odd number.

Not going to even...

Thank You!

Bob,

Thank you for the update! I suspect Higgins doesn't feel like too much of a loser with a nice paycheck and the first perfect at the Crucible in eight years.

one good thing ...

There is one good thing, it was all in the family. If they keep up like this they should be removing some members from the gene pool. I suspect their gene pool is more like a puddle anyway!

thank you!

Thanks for posting this! I tend to watch more snooker than pool on youtube. Partially because of the excellent production values at the snooker venues, partially the game and the challenges the...

whatever is best for me!

A nit is somebody that won't give me the game I want. On the other hand when I won't give them the game they want, I am a smart negotiator!

not shabby at all!

I see this never got answered. He is stout on nine footers too. He is such a monster on a bar table that people often ignore he isn't much behind his barbox game on a nine footer. Few if any came...

Elkmasters

Matt, I found the trick for the Elkmasters was to sort them by weight. The box I weighed had nine very light tips that I tossed, can't believe they would be good. That left me with three lots of...

Tempted by the platinum, went cheap first!

They claim tighter spec's than anyone but even that listing is confusing and a bit contradictory. Hardness greater than or equal to 56Rockwell on the E scale? it also lists hardness as 59R.

sites have a shelf life

All interactive sites on the internet with only a few exceptions seem to have a limited shelf life then people move on to something or somewhere else. AZB is no exception.

I do think fragmenting...

half a mile in Yosemite

The park rangers made the tourister types stay back a half mile from a grizzly. Most got a little brown speck for a picture. Mine weren't much better! The griz was on the other bank of a little...

"Hell No!"

I remember when a wrestling bear came to town. It was the old time thing, put your money up and go three rounds with the bear for a thousand dollars. Details may be a little off, been a long time....

Elkmaster forever, or until I run dry!

I have tried layered tips repeatedly. Got one from the factory on my CF shaft. Two Elkmaster tips, one I break with, one layered tip. I don't miscue twice a mionth with the Elkmaster tips, two or...

Yeah, I feel the same way!

I don't know how much is the carbon fiber and how much is the taper but the stick feels good! It seems to give a very clean hit. It drives through the cue ball well for lack of a better way to...

rebirth of an old thread

This is the rebirth of an old thread from 2014. I apparently posted in it somewhere because it came up in my User CP. Not going to dig for what I said six years ago but today I think less than 4.5...

Yes

Often there are strategic reasons for racking at one end including minimum annoyance to other players. However, if I was a hall owner and there was no real reason to rack on one end I would happily...

Great to read some good news!

As you know, this is typical dealing in the pool world. If a person just read this forum they would think it was a dark and dangerous place to deal. In reality it is just the opposite, a handshake or...

I think you are right!

Ain't no free ride! The same thing that is spinning the balls easier is causing more deflection on shots with side spin. The heavier cue is going to hit the balls further for seemingly the same...

More a "why not" thing

It is more of a why not thing. Sixty inches still fits my case with joint protectors on and since I move back and forth on my cue I use all sixty inches. I could play with shorter, but why?

I...

saw some

I saw some cues with liquid filling near the buttcap and dice. The dice would roll every shot. Saw some with chaser lights too. I was very tempted to build a half decent sneaky and add the chaser...

happens to everyone sometimes

It happens to everyone sometimes. Toby overloaded a bit at the end of the match. Maybe hurting a little, maybe counting chickens, hard to say. For whatever reason, Toby faded a bit, gave Steve the...

12 to 32 ounces

I have played with cues from twelve to twenty-four or six ounces then jumped to two pounds even, deliberately experimenting with weight. For some reason about three times the weight of the cue ball...

very nice!

Most of the custom tables I have seen didn't do much for me. I would love to have that one if it plays half as nice as it looks! A pair of five by tens, one pool and one snooker, would fit perfectly...

old car in my salvage yard ...

Had an old car in my salvage yard, had the little flaps on a screw to swing over the buttons to keep the inside lights off. Had to laugh, Oh yeah, remember exactly what those were about!
