CA is probably OK for what you are doing seeing that the joint pieces are probably sandwiched between parts that are epoxied .

First suggestion just use a full length core and ALL your a joint problems go away.
Next: Install your pin first and then turn your butt around the pin using the pin as a center to insure perfect...

G-10 vs Brass

I typically use brass on "players" and G-10 on break cues. I THINK that the brass has a slight edge on feedback/playability and the G-10 allows for a tighter shaft to butt connection.

Purple Heart, modified Euro taper, 13mm.
Didn't ask but I use G-10 ferrule, 3/8 tenon and Samsara JB tip and a Katalox
thread insert.
