I'm playing with a Josey and in my opinion it's the best cue I've shot with so far. For me I think it's a combination of the wrap and the radial pin joint that make it work for me.

I don't have experience with the stabilized shaft but Jim's jump/break cues are excellent. I would think you would notice more when jumping since the shaft would be much heavier and an easy stroke...

If you were looking for %100 American made, you could have gone with Pechauer, which are excellent cues and LEAGUES above Viking in quality.
