Have you tried using a nut and locknut plus heat,this would give you
the hex nut to apply a wrench instead of any thing soft.

length ferrule of sabre-t and it looks great after about six months of use.

England,had to do a lot of edm work for strain gage and thermocouple installation.
I agree some of this work...
