It's a .375 x 16 TPI. The one I took out is about 4" long, so as long as the weight bolt is aluminum, it should be good.

How do you get the tips centered? I don't mind the pressed flat tips to be off center, but the pre-shaped or dome tips like the triangle, lePro, and elkmasters, it takes a lot more work to shape it....

That's funny, because the reason for my asking about the thickness of the finish, I have an older McDermott that measures about .881 at the largest part of the joint, and about .864 on the bare wood...
