Joint opinion:

However little you may think the joint of a cue matters, in reality it matters much less than that.

My CF shaft has the same "sticking point" as my previous wood shafts: it isn't the cue that gets sticky, it's my hands.

I clean the shaft with an alcohol wipe or a wet cloth from time to time,...

Give First Break in Sterling a shot, if you haven't. 8 excellent diamond 9'ers, and it's rarely problematically crowded as Breakers often is.

Agreed, it's a case-study in why pattern racking shouldn't be allowed. It reduces the game to something much less than it should be.

They set the balls up to make them all dead in one of those fancy trick-shot configurations in the rack area. It's not a diamond shape at all, just a trick shot. They shoot the video of the guy...

"Honest effort" is kind of a terrible rule. You're supposed to honestly try what? To hit them literally as hard as you can? That doesn't seem reasonable, only beginners do that on a 9-ball break. ...

Some simple math corroborates your doubts, as if he had been born in 1880 and died in 1962, he could not have reached the age of 83. One of those numbers has to be wrong, so maybe 1962 is the wrong...

There are several factors.

One is playing more natural angles and playing more natural CB paths. When you're not fighting where the CB naturally wants to go every shot, you rarely have to use...

Perhaps they could be found, but I don't think anyone all the way up at Thorsten's level or above could compete with him on physique. The dude's definitely in great shape.

I'm sure you're exaggerating intentionally, but if you're spending a ton of hours in the gym you're doing it wrong. Thorsten's kind of physique only takes about 60-90 minutes 3 times a week, in the...

That usually has more to do with the table/cloth (divots) and/or balls (unevenly worn) than the triangle. Of course if you're using a warped wooden one or an overly-flexible plastic one, that won't...

Yeah, that's the joint, although the protruding (piloting?) part of the shaft insert in the photo looks oddly tilted; mine in real life looks square to the shaft face.

My Rogue 11.8 has the Pechauer Pro (piloted) joint, and is 4.76 oz. Seems like the joint insert has a big effect on overall weight.
