4.5" & 5" is fine. Anything smaller is no good imo. I play on this size at the local room and they're fine. As for "most" players? If you mean most serious/avid players yes i would agree with that....

No, the wider that angle the smaller the throat, more pinched at the back. 145deg would be a pretty tight throat. Smaller than 140deg would be closer to parallel facings. 140 is about standard.

Don't know. Do a "Community" search. They did make some snooker cues with shafts a lot like those you show. That's a real old real basic ADAM model. Finding date info on those is almost impossible....

As for golf, 7,200yds is not even considered long anymore. Senior tour plays on 7,200 sometimes. The modern equivalent is around 7,800(!!!) yds. Golf Digest&USGA did a study and said your avg....
