Bob, I have a few ideas.
1. no match tournament for the final 8, just the daily awards.
2. no score keepers required, each player must score their own runs.
(like golf honor system)
3. only...

Moscow's 526

If I could run 526.....I would get to 525 , and miss on purpose to honor the great Mosconi and what he did for the game !!!

No one else should hold this record.

There is no such thing as a 'back' cut. !

There are left cuts and right cuts. This is why you fail !

A little more info….

At the Texas open, I tried to talk to the tournament director about this issue, but it was received harshly. I was in favor of the magic rack, but not the slow break that everyone was using. He...

Example:

This year's texas open : 1 or 2 players mastered the slow break, and they were almost impossible to beat. Their matches were very lopsided, even against top players.

The game needs...

I agree with learning as many as possible….

…then you will find that most are pure bunk.!

Find something concrete and objective, and stay away from the subjective systems.

Or…,

It's a great tourney.

There are 2 ways to aim….

And only 2.

They are :
1. Subjective ways
2. Objective ways.

To play at a high level, you need to be trying to get to number 2.

Smoke free

They keep this room pretty well ventilated. I will be playing again this year, and I hate smoke. So it will be tolerable for most players.

However, at this room, HEAT is the problem. It will...

Pool must change to survive !

After 40 years of playing pool at a high level, I am convinced that pool must become like golf - to even survive at all.

Pool must become player versus the table, and/or ...

Wish i could list my 40 years of running 10 and 15 and 25 then missing !

If i could list my 40 years of runs that ended during the 1st rack, then maybe an occasional high run wouldn't raise such eye brows !!!

Dear moderator, please remove my high run stats, and remove...

Question This is weird,, try this out and report back...

Just for fun, and something different....

Step 1. Line up every shot, (that is not straight in), as a half ball hit.

Step 2. Use your tip or some other adjustment to 'fix' the angle, since...
