Off topic but I sent a cue to Joe Gold for a refinish last year (in Feb) but I have not heard from him since last July. The paint had chipped off a wrapless model and he offered to repair it for free. Does anyone here stay in contact with him? I think a year for a paint refinish is a tad too...

Increasing the weight of a cue should shift the balance point further back. If you are comparing between cues, the weight also plays a factor in how heavy the cue feels. An 18oz just won’t feel the same as a 20oz even with the same balance point. But if you ask me, balance is more important...

I have a South West shaft that’s made in the 2010s which won’t fit a predate South West from the 80s. Is there a difference in pin diameter and how can I get the shaft altered to fit my cue? Already asked South West but I don’t think they will take this on.
