    Unsolvable 14.1 racks

There have been many books and internet articles etc. written about position play so I'm not sure what you mean. If you develop something useful that hasn't been done then great.

    Unsolvable 14.1 racks

If your goal is to improve pattern play then the information on strategy is out there. You just have to spend time learning and trying. If, on the other hand, your goal is simply to see if a computer can calculate the best runout patterns then I'm sure something could be done. Maybe the...

    Unsolvable 14.1 racks

Sometimes you have interesting ideas but it's not clear if this is one of them. You might have to provide an example of what you are after.

Am I crazy or do side pockets on 7 ft tables play bigger for scratches than 9 ft?

I initially thought about the pocket being a larger percentage of the rail but I'm not so sure that is the answer. If you were randomly hitting balls against that rail, then yes. In your example shooting the 8, the pocket is now where the rail is on the 9 foot table. I'm thinking your muscle...

Is the Aiming Forum a Relic?

The anode for the AZ forums is the Aiming (CTE) forum. I think it is comprised 100% of fool's gold.

Is the Aiming Forum a Relic?

I realize you are right. 19 years is just the time I've had it, not counting the ? years before that. I've thought about replacing it but then other things come up, of course. Maybe I'll take this opportunity to do something about it. Thanks. This one is in a business with tile floor and a...

Is the Aiming Forum a Relic?

When I was renovating a store 19 years ago the plumber doing a lot of work suggested I consider replacing the water heater as it had already been there awhile and looked like it might go. That was 19 years ago. Sadly, the water heater outlasted the plumber, RIP.

Is the Aiming Forum a Relic?

It took a few years to sort it out, but it ended up a master stroke by Mike. Ban CTE from the main forum and move it to the aiming forum. Then ban those who can't stop with the CTE hysteria from posting in the aiming forum. The new forum software allowed that to happen. I think the aiming...

    Ball Cleaner

The balls will not throw consistently. I found that balls that threw 1 inch initially later threw 4 or 5 inches after a couple hours of play when using Novus 1. Maybe that's why your game sucks? It's like playing with gaffed balls. :)

    Ball Cleaner

Novas 1 is really bad for play.

    Ball Cleaner

Throw can change dramatically if you don't use a cleaner made for billiard balls.

    Cue weight and longevity play.

I think practice strokes significantly increase the time you have to be bent over in shooting position. Frankly, I don't think they are usually necessary. I get down on a shot and usually take a couple short waggles like an inch or two, if that. I know it is against most standard practices to...

    Ball Cleaner

I bought a new car and the manual says to use 10W30 motor oil. Has anybody tried using something made for a completely different purpose instead? I was thinking about using furniture polish mixed well with bacon fat. Or, how about hydraulic fluid thickened with tar? There must be a dozen...

    The L-drill poll

I voted 1-3 easy drill, but it is not easy. I can only do it now with some consistency because I practiced it.
