Who can make my shaft with a pro taper?

I highly doubt Guido would charge $200 to retaper a shaft. He charged me $350 to refurbish an entire cue which included refacing the joints, ivory ferrule, new layered tip, refinishing the butt, new bumper and new linen wrap. His website says a taper change is $20-40. A new shaft from him costs...

    Rankings of Custom Cue Makers

True story... My Omen is a very pretty cue and plays great but that plain Jane Guido Orlandi just feels better. I'm going to see if Guido can make a matching LD shaft for it. I'm so used to playing with the Omen and Cynergy shaft that I miss inside english shots with the Guido cue due to squirt.

    Rankings of Custom Cue Makers

I jumped on this thread to throw Guido's name into the ring. I have an old flat-faced joint with a 3/8-10 pin cue I bought from him at a tournament in New York around 30 years ago. I sent it to him 3-4 years back to have it restored to original condition. Without question the best hitting cue...

    The Dreaded Basement/Garage Pole Issue...

In my case it wasn't feasible to DIY it. Two 18 foot plates weighing in at around 550lbs each wasn't something I was willing to take on. Sometimes you have a problem that you just to throw money at.

    The Dreaded Basement/Garage Pole Issue...

In my case it was two 3/4" thick steel plates, 18 feet long. It reaches past the column that was being removed to the next column. You can see the steel plate in the pic. I ended up with 16' 8" between the other column and the wall framing. THe pool table was going where the work table is in...

    The Dreaded Basement/Garage Pole Issue...

I used a company out of New Jersey. They came up to CT and removed a pole in the basement which would have been my 850sqft man cave. My ex-wife now has a nice open area ready for sheetrock she can entertain in (lol?). This is who I used: https://lallygone.com/ Think it cost me $3100. They...

Coming Back after 20 Years Off

Guy is a rockstar... he went above and beyond with my cue refinish. Even threw an ivory ferrule on it. I REALLY want to like my gorgeous ~$2000 Omen (Ebony nose, Amboyna burl points, SW style) better than that old cue I bought off him at a tournament in NY... it's tough though, even with the...

Coming Back after 20 Years Off

I'd throw Guido Orlandi's name in the mix. I have a very plain cue I bought from him 25+ years ago that I will not part with. To date I've not hit with anything that I like better. I actually sent the cue back to him a few years ago to restore to mint condition. Super nice guy and his cues...

    williard cue tipper trimmer

No doubt the lathe is more useful which is great when I'm home to use it. The Willard I can bring anywhere. When I was running a pool hall about 25 years ago I used one of these multiple times every week. Loved that little thing... produces great results with little effort if you know what...

    Vintage Cues Helmstetters - Info

The model escapes me, I owned that cue close to 30 years ago. I bought it in the late 80's or very early 90's. It cost somewhere $300-400 back then if I remember correctly. I'll do some digging and see if I can find an old catalog. Someone on the forums here mentioned they had most of the old...
