Sorry i haven't got back sooner. Ton of cue work. The bottom pic shows a difference where it's bare, and the top pic shows felt stapled all the way around. So the rails in the bottom pic would sit lower?
Fascinating! I have experienced tables like this and have never understood why it was happening since the installer would quote the rail height you mentioned earlier, and even measure it. This is mostly on bar boxes. Maybe this is a question for another time, but how do you make rail height...
I repair cues. Been at it since 98. Somehow I acquired a shaft shaped like a triangle. Folks try new, or what they think is new ideas all the time. I've played with it, and it's not bad at all. Really good off the rail.

Just finished a couple weeks ago. Gotta say, really enjoyed it! Was surprised by the amount of information, and diagrammed shots. Also his life story was very interesting. I expected the diagrams of trick shots, but not the thorough...
Try the carbon edged blades, and yes, wet the sides of the tip. Might be over kill, but I've never had an issue with what you're describing. Also, lathe speed 12 to 1500 with razor knife.
