    Tap or Template?

That could work, but it is much better if all the perimeter balls are trained to lean toward the center of the rack. That results in a better training that lasts longer.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Agreed. It would be nice to have a system that applies to snooker-style curved-facing pockets, but the current TDF system applies only to pool tables with flat pocket facings. I totally different analysis would be required for curved facings.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Here's the latest: Calculate your Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) to determine how tough it plays relative to other tables. Only three pocket measurements are required, and you can use the TDF calculator or TDF spreadsheet to get your results. username - table size, pocket mouth size...

Thank you for posting. I've added the info to the list. Those are really tough tables!

    Doc D got me thinking...

For those interested, a thorough and accurate analysis showing how cut shot difficult depends on everything (CB-OB distance, OB-pocket distance, cut angle, angle to the pocket, and pocket geometry) can be found via the links here: cut shot margin for error analysis

    Chang - Foul or Not?

Good post Freddy. FYI, I shared a quote of your post with the WPA Rules Committee, who is also discussing this topic. At some point, the committee will seek public input for other suggested rules changes and for comments on proposed changes. In the meantime, the committee is monitoring all...

HOW TO AIM … The “AIMING SYSTEM” of the PROS

Agreed. IMO, it is more of a "visual aid" than a "system." It is something you can learn to see intuitively during HAMB. You're welcome. I aim to swerve. :geek: I think I like that better; although, "shot picture" has been commonly used for a while.

HOW TO AIM … The “AIMING SYSTEM” of the PROS

Yep. No snake oil either. Just smart practice (and a few useful "guidelines" and "best practices"). You're welcome.

HOW TO AIM … The “AIMING SYSTEM” of the PROS

They don't use an "aiming system," but they do "visualize" the aim, and they also mostly do everything else in the video to help them be accurate and consistent. All of this is "intuitive" and "comes naturally" to them due to HAMB.

HOW TO AIM … The “AIMING SYSTEM” of the PROS

I’m glad you enjoyed my marketing spoof. I have talked to many pros and top players about aiming over the years, but I have honestly learned a lot more by observing many of them up close during play. I have also learned a lot by observing snooker players over the years. They do many...
