Big pool table, small room. Could this be the solution we've been waiting for.

I love how this thread went from "do not try it", to "come on prove it", to "very cool" , to "have you thought of this or that". Been there, done that, in another discipline. Amazing to experience.

Looking at CB Last When Shooting CB Off Cushion

I have been working on this recently and looking at the cue last has not helped. I am now trying a much more upright stance, but am still consistently hitting the cueball slightly off to the right. I'll add that when the cue is beyond 2 inches off the rail or more, my stroke is almost dead on.

Sherline lathe beds, base plates, tailstock FS

Curious about this regarding the head stock mount. My understanding is Sherline matches the lathe bed to the headstock with a custom made key to ensure perfect alignment. What are you doing with the key?

Gandy Miss America table cushion question.

Ahhh you are right. It is the difference between the rail nose and the surface the ball will be rolling on that matters.. My brain freeze.

Gandy Miss America table cushion question.

I am investigating new cushions for an early 1970 Gandy Miss America oversized 8 foot table. I came upon this AZB earlier thread from 2009 discussing using Championship Tour Edition k-66 rubber on a Gandy table and the horrible results after the install...

Wing Ball Won't Go? Magic Rack...

I just experienced the same problem. I have used the magic rack for quite awhile now and have been successful using it on many different tables with very repeatable results. I just used it recently on a different table and the results were extraordinarily unpredictable. I was baffled for a...

What makes a Worsted cloth Worsted?

Before the wool fiber is spun into thread it is processed to make the fibers line up parallel, then it is combed to remove the shorter fibers.

Is there anyway to determine the brand of a tip on a cue besides just layered vs. non-layered or color?

Curiosity question - lathe alignment testing

I have no experience building cues but am wondering how often do low production, or custom cue makers have to test, and/or re-calibrate their lathes and taper machines to ensure they are still within to their specifications?
