Best pool novels that should be movies

This would be a great movie, The Fat man is hard to beat. Just the stories of Fats and Titanic Thomson could make a great mini series!

Here are some other pictures I found on a Japanize web sight. Definitely a GB-10, early model, before they changed the weight bolt. These pictures show it with MOP, where the cue I have is Abalone, the butt cap is different on the end also. The top cue, and it even has the right Irish linen...

Aloha, Here is a link I found interesting about Adam/Helm/Bushka company. They go on to say that the cues can still be gotten out of Japan. They also say that when the cues moved to china like the current production, they lost the double weight bolt like the original bushka cues...

Aloha. Just helped a buddy with the M.G. Wright pool table I was posting about earlier. We were thinking of changing the cushion rubber....but, I have never heard of a k-29 cushion.Figured I would ask for some information if anyone has some on here. If there is a direct replacement it would...

Chop, That looks pretty close to this one. Here is a picture of the one I have, and the one you posted. BTW, I could not get a socket to fit it, and I'm a diesel mechanic. Had to use a pair on needle nose to get it out. And this one was not very tight. Mahalo

I was just wondering if it was possible that this was an early one, maybe before they got the rights to make them. I don't know much about the company. I'm I wrong in assuming that the Japan uses would have a metric weight bolt?

Well if this does turn out to be a Japabushka then it will change my opinion of those cues, this one hits real nice and is built pretty good.

Aloha The GB-3 was what I was thinking also. The inlays on this are straight diamonds. Did the Balabushka, Adam people build some cues prior to selling out to Japan. Maybe this is on of those early cues. Out of all the Japalabushka cues I have looked at, none match the inlays, although the...

The current tips look to be elk masters to me. The grain is evident when it is not in a picture. The butt cap had me thinking at first that this was an Adam cue, maybe before they started making the current Balabushka lines over seas. The SAE thread on the weight bolt keeps bringing me back...

Just doing some looking, is it possible that this is a Richard Black cue. I know he didn't start signing cues till the late 70's sometime. I know he used a similar wood piloted joint, but I'm not sure what pin he used.

Thanks KJ, any help is greatly appreciated. I cleaned the ferrules and it looks to be Ivorline 3, or some form of synthetic ivory. Here is a close up of the ferrules. It looks to have a cross pattern so I know it's not real ivory. Maybe this will help with trying figure this out. Much...

Need Info on M.G. Wright table.

The table plays really good for the age, we moved the table and setting it up a friends house, right now we are waiting on the cloth to show up so we can finish this thing. He did not order enough cloth for the three cushion rails, but no big deal at this time.

    Long cues ?

Aloha, There are quite a few underlying factors in order for someone to reap the benefits of a longer cue. Height of the player and stroke mechanics are two of the main ones. As a general rule of thumb the cue should come just under the players nose. The way a player sets up on the shot...
