What do you guys think of this estimate?

Yeah, I guess I should have gone with the original estimate. Tried to save a little money and it didn't work out. Featherstrip sticks up in several places, cloth left loose on several of the rails, pockets finished out different size (1 was 4.5", 1 was 4 3/8", and 2 were 4 1/4"). Two rails...

    3/8" facing vs subrail extension

Right. I'm just trying to education myself about pocket miter angle. I saw somewhere it was mentioned to put on a 3/16" subrail extension followed by a 3/16" facing. However, where does the miter angle come in? Is that simply the angle cut on the rail rubber?

    3/8" facing vs subrail extension

I was hoping someone had posted pictures of this process. Much easier to visualize in pictures.

    3/8" facing vs subrail extension

I'm installing a GC3 this Saturday (or having my mechanic do it) and I want to tighten the corners to 4.5" and sides to 5". I keep hearing that subrail extensions are the way to go but those can be tricky. I see the 3/8" facings at classic billiards and wondering if they are good alternative...

What do you guys think of this estimate?

I've heard good things about a guy in the Nashville area named Tim Seisser. He works with Sam Rowland. Sam has done good work for me in the past.

    Painting trim on GC3

Any good ideas on painting the metal Brunswich logo plate or painting the bottom of t he logo on the metal trim around the ball racks? I had the metal trim chromed and was thinking about sticking contact paper over the logo, cutting it out with a sharp xacto knife, and then spray painting the...

What do you guys think of this estimate?

Thanks guys. I found another guy with lots of GC3 experience who will do the job for $1500. Feeling much better about that.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

Yes, will need new cushions. And I plan to use superspeeds. Yes, will be extending the cushions so only a single cushion facing is needed.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

So the high estimate is using subrail extensions to tighten the pockets. I got another estimate at $1500 but that is shimming the pockets.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

they are dinged and scratched up pretty bad. Even polishing these up would require removing them.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

I won't give the company name. he is quoting $1400 for assembly and recover. He plans to use championship tour edition rubber. He tells me it's "more accurate". I do not know if he plans subrail extensions.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

Yeah, you did get lucky . My local plating company wanted $360 to plate the pocket casts, $300 to plate the feet, and $350 to plate the ball holder trim. I wound up buying the feet and pocket castings from classic billiards because it was simply cheaper.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

Yes, I've purchased new trim from classic billiards.net. $100 seemed like a deal to have it installed.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

Yeah replacing the rail trim is replacing the silver trim on the edge of the GC3 rails. $100 is not too bad as I hear they are a bear to get out.

What do you guys think of this estimate?

It seemed high to me too. Thanks for the feedback

What do you guys think of this estimate?

I got the following estimate on my GC3. What do you guys think? Assemble table - $600 Recover (including rails) with Simonis 860 - $800 New k55 rubber installed - $650 Cut rail liners to proper angle for new rubber (not sure what this is) - $150 Close pockets to my spec - $250 Replace chrome...

    Aftermarket pocket castings/leg levelers

I have no reason to believe they are not good but does anyone have any experience with GC3 pocket castings/leg levelers from classic billiards? I want to go chrome and buying them is just as cheap as having them done locally.
