Tickets for Predator PBS Vegas in February

I know they want you to stay at the Rio, but can anyone tell me what admission tickets to the matches cost? Can't find it anywhere. Or is it part of the Rio package? Thanks.

best pool player in your pool room.

Also Ronnie Allen (no relation to the great RA) was up there with Michaels and Aguero. Tobias Ragossnig came over from Austria for the sole purpose of playing top players and becoming an elite pro. Never got there but he had a great game. Nice guy, too.

Great 9-page article about the famous Johnston City “Hustlers Jamboree” 1960s worth reading/re-reading :)

Right. Any article in Playboy was a much the product of an editor as it was the writer. The editor would have steered the piece to a non-billiard readership.

    Sad news…..

Last time I was in there was to watch a tournament, no idea which one. Efren and Rodney were playing chess between matches on a card table set up outside the Men's Room. Dennis Orcollo won it. One of the best local/regional players who showed up at Family was Han Chung. Great room.

    Momentos of Reno times past

No, but I must have had one, because I was there for some of them. Awesome events, twice a year.

Reduce cue weight by drilling out wood?

I have an older Schmelke weighing a bit over 19 oz. that I would like to reduce by 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz. The butt is one-piece solid bocote and there is no weight bolt. I'm wondering if it's practical to drill up into the butt to reduce the weight by removing some wood. I'd do some tests on another...

Which Variable Is the Cause of Most Missed Shots

Movement, however miniscule. Movement of your head, your eyes, hands, body--or most important, your brain. That said, following through properly and staying riveted to see the actual contact with the OB... those cure all kinds of lesser problems IMO.

    Value of my Meucci?

Don't disagree with you, but he left me a number of cues that I treasure. Great guy.

    Value of my Meucci?

Thanks very much. It didn't appear out of nowhere but was left to me by a close pool buddy who passed away. I know a fair amount about cues and have a few. I just don't use this one and am thinking I might as well sell it.

    Value of my Meucci?

Can anyone tell me what model this Meucci is and what would be a fair price to sell it for? Butt is pristine, long-ferrule shaft is chalk-stained but smooth. Thanks very much.

What is a Merry Widow cue?

Not sure if this is right, but I take it to mean a cue with no points or decoration in the butt sleeve or forearm, handle can be wrapped or wrapless. Does an unadorned, one-piece butt qualify as a Merry Widow? Can anyone tell me where the term Merry Widow comes from? Thx

    A real Earl headscratcher

This YT video purports to demonstrate a shot taught to the poster by Earl Strickland. If you're like me, you know it makes no sense. What is surprising is the number of YT commenters who say it works. It appears to say that, for cut shots using english, simply aim dead center at the OB and...

    Cues comparison

Yes, cocobolo is heavier. Back in the day, I ordered a (mostly) cocobolo cue from McDermott. I wanted 19 oz. and they said the lightest they could make it was over 21.

WTB older Players exotic wood series

HI. I'd like to find a Players like I once had, or the same with a different wood. Shiny black composite wrapless handle with zebrawood, walnut or cocobolo butt and forearm. No points or any other decoration. Thanks.

My experience dealing with a well known cue maker

If you waited a year and 5 months, even if everything came out perfectly, the cuemaker should not have taken the work on in the first place. He should have told you he was too busy or told you it could take more than a year.

    Carbon Shaft comments, please

I'd been using a 314 for about a year and liked it very much. I was skeptical that I'd find a CF any different, but I recently bought a Rhino and the change improved my game. The characteristic that stands out most for me with the CF is better energy transfer. I'm not hitting the ball as hard...
