    Positive experience with Proficient Billiards

I am not much for writing positive reviews (too lazy), but I feel like I have to for Proficient Billiards. So recently I scratched up the finish the forearm of my Mezz EC7-ES when I failed to notice the chalk beneath the cue when shooting. While it is by no means an "expensive" cue in the world...

Ball storage when not in use

A buddy of mine recently visited and we started to shoot some pool. One of the things that surprised him was that I took the balls out of their box in the beginning and put the balls back into the box again when we were done. He was confused as to why I did that and my answer was so that they...

    Snazzy Pete by Jerry Powers

I just received my fancy Sneaky Pete from Jerry Powers aka Snazzy Pete. It has a a curly maple shaft and forearm with and ebony sleeve and uses a 3/8x10 modified joint. The joint protectors combines to form a miniature version of Snazzy Pete. Jerry even put a scuffed texture on the "tip" of the...

Custom cues and shaft diameter / tip size

I noticed that a lot of the custom cues up for sale have shafts with 13mm diameters, while the production cue industry seems to be shifting towards smaller and smaller (12.75mm or less) diameters. Is this because those are older cues and the cuemakers' current cues are also shifting in that...

    Custom Cue Design Preferences

In the last few weeks searching for a cue maker to make my dream Sneaky Pete (finally settled on Powers), I have seen a LOT of custom cue designs. One thing I noticed is that a lot of cue makers make a LOT of SP and PJ type cues. I also noticed in quite a few instances, the terms "affordable"...

Custom Sneaky Pete plans, am I missing anything?

I am about to pull the trigger on having a custom true SP made for me by Jerry Powers of Jerico Cues and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything as well as field suggestions. Here is what I am going with: Macassar Ebony sleeve and points (no wrap or inlays) Curly Maple forearm without a...

    JB Cue Ball Holder

I wanted to ask before pulling the trigger and adding it... For those of you who have the cue ball holder accessory for JB Rugged cases, how firmly does that thing hold cue balls? Last thing I want is for the ball to pop out and possibly damage my cues and could always go the Ballsack route. I...

Vertical line on carbon fiber shaft?

The Mezz Ignite I ordered finally arrived with the outer box looking like Fedex stomped on it. The inner box with the shaft was a bit damaged through all the bubble wrap, but the shaft itself looked OK. Upon closer examination, I noticed a faint line running straight up and down the shaft. Is...

    Plain Basic Uni-Loc Sneaky Pete

Are there any basic, plain sneaky pete cues out there that use the Uni-Loc joint? The best I have been able to find is the Lucasi which has those extra dots.

    My Mezz cue!

Not sure why my phone won't attach pics to this site (says they are too big), but I somehow can with my PC, but here we go. I got my Mezz EC7-ES with the Sigma shaft last Tuesday and have been absolutely in love with it. I don't know if it's the LD type shaft or the Kamui tip or the Unified...

Is there a "smart" cue ball yet?

This might be a dumb question, but is there a smart cue ball yet? I was recently helping my mother figure out her new smart watch and I started thinking about all the various smart devices that exist now and can report to our smartphones. Is there something similar to that for cue balls where...

Differences between Mezz EC7 and EC9?

I promise I tried to search for existing threads first and couldn’t find anything. Outside of the EC7 using a WX700 shaft and the EC9 using a WX Sigma shaft, are there any other actual differences between the two models? Thanks!
