I agree with you. I'm my opinion at the end of the day all any pin really does is draw the two halves together.

Gentlemen.......another odd question for you all. Can anyone tell me the difference between a wavy pin/tap and a ball thread pin/tap? They seem to look the same to me. Is there a difference in pitch or diameters? I can't find any dimensions on the taps and the comparing the photos they look...

I rarely come across a Mezz cue so I'd never seen that pin before. Wasn't sure if it was their version of some piloted "thing", a bastardized version of a Uni-Loc.

Another dumb question.........what the heck is the thread pitch of that cutter? Is it 10TPI or......... I've rarely seen those ball pins so I don't know diameters or what pitch they are. I was going to reach out to a tool maker and see if he's got the capability to grind such a thing. Does...

An update. I tried to fit a mismatched QR pin into an older Uni-Loc insert. Obviously didn't work. Does anyone know where to get the original Uni-Loc inserts that are NOT QR?

Cocobolo and African blackwood with birdseye or curly maple are my fave hits.

Does anyone know where that photo came from and/or where we can order one of those thread mills?
