Best Break and Run Tournament Performance

The biggest packs Ive heard of are Archer vs Busty. Archer ran 15+ I think? And Niels ran maybe 19? But I think it was practice. There are stories of Matlock and McCready putting up 20+packs on the barbox but I'm not sure how many actually witnessed. I think Bergman has a huge barbox package on...

    Can't play no mo blues.

I sure hope so! In the few days leading up to this I was playing the best I've ever played. I've had disc problems since I was 20 but for the past 5-6 years I've never had a flare up, which is the longest I've ever gone without issues

    Can't play no mo blues.

Where do you find backgammon games Fatboy? I play a little bg and I aggravated a disc again playing pool the other day so I'm wondering if my pool playing time is winding down

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

Yeah road players are making a killing in 2024. I'm one of the suckers in this thread and I think I make more than most road players doing the easiest job on earth. If being "too stupid to understand simple probabilities" makes me a little better that's ok with me

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

I guess if a 400 can't run 3 balls then I'm not one. I can run out every once in awhile. Im not that familiar with Fargo. But maybe youre right. I just thought 10/2 is pretty wide as a max handicap

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

I agree that's a big difference. Idk where I got 70 from, I was thinking man this guy's really old to be steamrolling everyone still. Can you carve out a special more extreme handicap for him? I just dislike the idea of completely barring someone from play, especially if there's not that many...

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

I just can't imagine the skill gap is as extreme as some posters are making it seem. I'm probably a 400 ish Fargo, I don't really know. But I think I'd have a decent chance vs pros from 30 years ago who are 70+ getting 10/2. A 400 can run out every once in a while right? Then get lucky one more...

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

It sounds like that's a pretty big handicap for someone as far removed from his peak as he is. As a player I'd be happy to play and lose just for the practice but I've always had that attitude towards stronger players, I understand not everyone feels the same.

Archer vs. Sigel 1993 Accu Stats

Awesome match. Johnny plays so fast in this, did he slow way down later in his career? Also what is it that makes mikes mechanics look unusual? I can't put my finger on it but it always looks like he's leaning to the side more than most? Like his feet are way over to the left? And why does he do...

    Vegas info.

I always recommend skipping the strip and staying downtown if you've been to Vegas before. More fun imo, better deals, lower limits etc. I wouldn't let the homeless and crazies deter you, there's just as much of that on the strip imo. Golden nugget and circa are both nice.

    Changing a weight bolt

Thank you. I figured it was simple but I'm just paranoid about potentially damaging a cue I really like.

    Changing a weight bolt

I have a Joss cue from the 90's with the old hand logo. It's pretty heavy, 20+ oz. I'm about to buy a 30" shaft and if it's heavier than the shaft I have the cue will become a bit too heavy. Is there anything special to know about changing a weight bolt? It seems pretty straightforward but I...

Games other than pool in pool halls

I haven't seen a golden tee machine in quite a long time. It was big here too but disappeared. I love pop a shot basketball but the pool rooms here don't have games other than darts. Maybe I'll leave a deck or cards in my case and try to make some tournament break gin games. I've heard some...

Games other than pool in pool halls

Are there any other games that are popular in the pool halls you guys frequent? I recently bought a set of darts just to have something to do in between tournament matches. I am having fun throwing darts as a little break during practice sessions. I've played one game of gin in a pool hall...
