    Help! Another Cue ID Thread

I agree, it looks very similar to the Stonier cue I have. I like the cue a lot because it has a very good hit. I knew Terry and he was a great guy! He loved the game and players felt that so he was very well thought of!

Pros who started to play pool late.

Didn't Mike LeBron have a similar story? He played when he was young and took a long hiatus to earn a living. After retiring from iron work he came back into the game right?

    Say a prayer for cole

I had the pleasure watching Cole play at Buchtooth's in Manteca. He had obvously been playing all night and he looked bone weary! He had a hard time staying awake and looked like he was in desperate need of a couple of good night sleeps!! When it was his turn to shoot and he put that cue over...

On A Serious Note: Safety For Foreigners In The Phillipines

If I see someone else eating something, I will at least try it because you won't know unless you do try it. I just cannot try balut though!! That is just too gross for me!!!

On A Serious Note: Safety For Foreigners In The Phillipines

There are so many different styles of cooking there too! Adobo made by those that are Ilocano is much different than how the Visayans cook it. Also, what tastes good to me may not taste good to someone else. In other words it is very subjective. I happen to like just about everything my...

On A Serious Note: Safety For Foreigners In The Phillipines

I like the food. My wife is Visayan and they have good food. At least everything I've eaten was tasty and they are very clean. I agree that dinuguan and balut are gross as well as bagaoon! While I have never been there, I have heard many say that England has bad food. The only thing good...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I was fortunate to get a lesson from Buddy! What a nice guy who is a great player with tons of knowledge!! He makes the game look so easy!! Trouble is, with those big hands of his, it's hard to see how he uses his grip hand when he's stroking. I think he is just a naturally gifted athlete...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I tend to agree with you but let's not go overboard. Think about it for a second and look at other sports where they actually do have coaches. How many tennis coaches were the best players in their day? Not that many. How many football coaches were great players? Not that many. There is...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Kali does have a very powerful #2 hit! I didn't study Kali but I did study and then teach Serrada. Nothing like sparring in Serrada!!! If you haven't seen two good Serrada players spar, you're missing something! My problem trying to use the Escrima wrist action in pool is keeping my wrist...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I don't understand all the negative posts regarding your willingness to share with us how you stroke the cue! You have said over and over that no one has to accept your style of stroke and that you're just sharing how you do it. Thank you for sharing!! I would love to find out more about it...

Francisco Bustamante wins One Pocket, West Coast Challenge

Busty won it but it was a great match. I thought Corey played exceptionally well! He made some awesome shots! I didn't see it but heard that Ulrich made a phenomenal shot in his match with Scott Frost! Scott won that match btw.

Francisco Bustamante wins One Pocket, West Coast Challenge

Sorry I didn't make that more clear. I meant forfeit of the game. You answered my question but I just thought it was strange that Busty gave up the game with like one ball down. Yeah that 3 foul thing was weird but the ref Ken answered the question extremely well. He did a fantastic job...

Francisco Bustamante wins One Pocket, West Coast Challenge

I watched the Francisco Corey match on my pc. That was a great match!! Why did Francisco forfeit that one game though?

    Rest in peace, Grady.

Never met him but I sure enjoyed listening to him co-host matches! He always sounded knowledgeable and I really got the sense that he was a gentleman. He left a huge footprint in the pool world!

What is the one weak point in your pool game?

My problem is that I just love to hit the balls so much! I get to the point where I don't want to play anyone because I can't stand it when they're at the table! Makes me want to play only the weak players so I can have more time at the table. I agree with Fran too! I get really uptight...

How many pool halls do your town or city have, how good are they?

We only have one right now. It has 9 tables five of which are pretty bad. We used to have several pool halls but one by one they closed down. The only good news is that this place does have two GC 5's that are kept up pretty well.

    Sad news about Grady Matthews.

He will live on in our hearts and minds.

What do you think is the reason for so many good pool halls closing?

I didn't read this entire thread so if I'm repeating something that has already been said, I am sorry about that. I thought about going into the pool hall business. My dad was retired and a friend and I were thinking about going into business together. We researched the risk/benefit ratio...
