Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

You’re also allowed to use a fairly subjective “market value” for items. This can be done several ways. You can use for sale forums such as these, eBay, etc to show what things are selling for. You can call up a cue maker and have them send you a quote one what it would cost to make. Or have...

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

No one gets a pass. And never did. Before the reporting requirements about PayPal…..let’s say for example: You bought a predator Panthera cue for $2,000. They have gone up over the years as they are highly collectible. You sell it for $2500 You as an individual were already required to show...

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

This is the funny part. People such as above are mad because they were already not reporting their taxes properly and now there’s one less way they can. And somehow it’s changed the entire landscape of taxes. No, it’s just going to make you put your tax evasion in writing if you choose to do so.

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

I’ve been through several personal audits and several business. It’s extremely common to not have receipts. Again, you have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re also not reading what I posted. The focus is on people who run what should essentially be a side business. The IRS isn’t...

What has happened to Billiards Gloves?

And a large amount of those pros wear a glove. Consistency is important in any game or sport. The glove is always the same. Your hand moisture and such can change.

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

Not to mention, you’re not going to get an audit because you sold 5 cues and on your taxes you report the cues cost more than you sold them for. If you sell 200 cues this year and claim you sold them all at a lost, then yes, while unlikely, you might get an audit. And they’ll want some sort of...

Among others, the “Cohan rule” applies to many things when you’re audited without receipts.

You were still required to report those sales on your own. But people weren’t and how they are requiring PayPal and others to report it. Every cue you sold, very piece of furniture, etc….. Was always supposed to be accounted for. And if you turned a profit, it’s part of your income. And no...

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

This is not what’s happening. Those hobbyists were always supposed to show the cues they sold on their taxes. If you sold a used couch on the side of the road last year, on paper you should have reported it and shown it as a loss or profit on your taxes. This is in the same ballpark as states...

Buying on the For Sale forum. Friends and Family and sweeping paranoia

Nothing actually changed on paper. You have always been required to pay taxes on anything you sell for a profit. Personal or not. This just now requires a major electronic way people receive money to report the transactions. You also don’t need a receipt from 10 years ago. You are not required...

    FEEL IN AIMING

It’s a direct response to his reply to me. It doesn’t have to make sense to you. Also, all you guys do is argue in this section. So, stfu and keep crying about aiming instead of interjecting into someone else’s conversation. That’s why they regulated you all to your own child’s section of the...

    FEEL IN AIMING

You tell everyone here what they need to do without any knowledge of what they know. So, have some of your own medicine. Also, people are allowed to have the opinion that every gun should be banned. Just as we can have the opinion their opinion is wrong. Much of the issues in life is everyone...

    FEEL IN AIMING

This isn’t true. Shooting movers is quite a bit by feel if you don’t have the time to time them and calculate speed. In the real world (hunting or work related) you usually don’t have time to do anything except make your best guess on speed and hold. It’s quite a bit by feel. The more you shoot...

They do it with first few times goods and services on some accounts. Not sure if it’s standard or there’s an algorithm. I have held funds sent goods and services held for a week or two, to allow for shipping. It’s annoying, but oh well. PayPal is providing a service and insuring the purchase...

Is Practice on a 10’ Table Advised for Matches on a 9’ Table?

Is Practice on a 10’ Table Advised for Matches on a 9’ Table?

Unless you’re already putting in hours and hours of practice, I’d say negligible. As in, you’d be far better off to go practice 20hrs a week on a 9ft then 5hrs a week on a 10ft. But, if you’re say a 700+ Fargo and putting in 20hrs or more a week, you might see some added benefit to adding in...

    Shaft Forgiveness

You seem to be thinking I’m saying “14% is insignificant” as in just the universal value of 14% is insignificant. Which, I have no idea why you would begin to assume that. You’re either not thinking logically or looking for “gotcha” moments to argue about. I’m saying 14% of a 13mm tip is...

    Shaft Forgiveness

It’s basic math. It’s like saying what weighs more, 100lbs of feathers or 100lbs of steel? 10% of something insignificant can’t magically become significant.

    Shaft Forgiveness

If the tip of the cue was flat, you might be able to say the 10% difference matters. Or, if the 10% intruded into the actual contact contact area of a cue. It doesn’t. Therefore it’s insignificant change as it doesn’t have an effect on the outcome.
