    Small pockets ruining the game

And, at 4.5 or 4.25 you'd see more banks and offensive kick shots. While I admire surgically precise cut shots, I'd like to see more banking and kicking. It's not the same as DCC bank shot competition.

Rubber on GC1 coming loose - Fix??

So Glen, now that I've got your attention (ok, the other guy got it), there's one small spot where the glue came loose on the long rail. It's about 1.25" in width. I can play with it like this for awhile before I decide to go all out and have the rails redone for new rubber and pockets shrunk a...

Rubber on GC1 coming loose - Fix??

Thanks for the response. I'm not doing anything myself. I restored the table in 2021 but did not put it back together and set it up. I was looking for a quick and easy short-term solution. Longer term I want to replace the rubber and narrow the pockets, but because it's a GC1 that requires...

Rubber on GC1 coming loose - Fix??

I have a GC1 with original Monarch Super Speed. The action on them is and has been good. However just the other day the glue gave way on about 1 1/4" mid-rail on one of the rails. Still plays ok, but I'm worried about it progressing. Can this be re-glued/fixed?

BCA or APA for League Play

For reference only: I am in second session with APA, everywhere we play has two Diamond 7' tables. We start at 7pm and all matches are usually done by 9:30. Once in awhile it goes to 10 or 10:15, but rarely. If it's my turn to sit out a night, I know ahead of time and stay home or go to a local...

    Requesting info on GC 1

I would really like to know if anyone can answer this question. My table has adjustable feet, but full length rail extrusions, which leads me to believe that it would be somewhere between 1964 and 1967 based on the supposition above. I'm good with this range if verified as I'm making the room...

    Age vs Experience

Ok, I accept that. What are the "too many" to which you are referring? I get hand/eye. Beyond that, I'm at a loss. Mental should favor experience.

    Age vs Experience

So, you're saying that it comes down to shot making and CB control, which is all predicated on hand/eye coordination. Furthermore, I think you're implying, or maybe I'm inferring, that the required experience doesn't require decades and thus is not that complicated for a true student of the...

    Age vs Experience

As I'm watching a 2022 match between Filler and Immonen, with Filler leading by a decent margin late, I started contemplating the age vs experience factor. With athleticism favoring youth and experience favoring age, I still wonder why youth seems to dominate the leader board. Is it as simple as...

I've been watching some Derby City matches on Billiard Channel lately and he's a commentator on many of them. Also, I think I see you in the front row on many of them. Am I right?

    Gold Crown Adventure

I just saw this and did not know fig 8 nut plate indicated an earlier version of the table. Can you give me that time frame and what they changed to afterwards? I gave up trying to figure out my table year awhile ago, but if it's possible I'd like to hone in a little better. Because the feet...

Really? Because I was the one doing the stereotyping to which I responded? I always marvel at the hypocrisy of the ISTS when they are called out for their ISMS.

    How to fix pool

I'm not sure the analogy is accurate, much as I wish it were. Despite its less-than-savory reputation in some circles, it's historically been considered a gentleman's sport (not sure it's a sport, but that's another discussion). In fact, in college I used to go to a hall named Gentleman Jim's in...
