    RIP Cyclop?????

I have and still play with Cyclop Hyperion, bought in 2020 (right before the brand ceased). I also have and play with Dynasphere Bronze, bought some time in '21 or '22. Both play great, better than anything at any pool hall I go to. The Hyperions are on my home table and the Bronzes are in a...

Need advice on a new table purchase.

I've played on Diamond, Rasson, and GC and all are quality tables. However, one other aspect to consider is resale value. Life happens and at some point you may want (or be forced) to sell, and my concern with Rasson is the demand and resale in the states is nowhere near as strong as the other...

Pool in Europe vs USA: 7-foot vs 9-foot tables

But that's not necessarily true. In the analogy you gave, having the swim club is a reflection of, not a cause of, having the better swimmers (because the better athletes did not change to another sport). That example demonstrates correlation, not necessarily causation, and doesn't really answer...

Pool in Europe vs USA: 7-foot vs 9-foot tables

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the response. Your video starts with comparing "9ft vs 7ft tables" and that it is self-evident that "7ft tables are holding back pool" but you don't actually spell out which aspect of that you are testing or evaluating. Spelling out that "[w]e're interested in the...

Pool in Europe vs USA: 7-foot vs 9-foot tables

Late to this party, but that was a wholly unsatisfying video. In similar populations, given how Fargo is constructed, shouldn't we expect to see similar #s of people at each rating bracket? Conceivably, if one population plays wholly on 7ft tables and another wholly on 9 ft tables you could...

    What is your HIGH RUN?

The only ones I really counted were: 10b: 3. Was a $20 set race to 3 and I broke and ran the set. 9' diamond with 4.5" corners. No early 10's. 14.1: 28. I had a brief period with a buddy where we'd keep score. Nowadays all my 14.1 is just practice and I don't really count Fun fact: that means...

Shane missed with BIH 2X last day vs fedor last week. 3X if you count the non-call double-hit. It's becoming a pattern.

    Break / Jump Cue Differences?

I have a $140 wood Jacoby jumper. I also have a $420 cf cuetec propel jumper. I do like the selectable handle lengths of the cuetec. For actual jumping, though, I can't tell a lick of difference.

They've fiddled with pocket sizes quite a bit the last few years. You'd think they'd have figured out whatever they've been trying to figure out by now. Fingers crossed 4.25 is the standard going forward.

Chua takes down Naoyuki Oi 10-0. Fedor on the hill vs kpc. And Jefrey Roda, someone I'd never heard of before this tournament, takes down Zielinski 10-2. That guy has to be the story of the tournament so far.

I assumed that was something with the lighting. Is the cloth actually wavy? I can't believe that. The balls don't seem to roll funny.
