I get that. I've seen similar joints on Shakespeare cues and other strange brands. Not really a precursor I think, just an odd joint.

Yes I've seen it. Don't remember on what, but I don't think anything like a Schmelke.

I believe 2 actual Titlists have been found. I'll see if I have records, notes, or pictures. Still organizing years of work screwed up by moving computers a couple times.

Thanks. I think they are cool. I have three now. The CP-01 Jump/Break with curly shaft and standard shaft, CP-07 with 2 original shafts, and CP-12 with 2 original shafts.

    Frye vs (Abe) Rich cues

I believe GB worked on a wood lathe as well. Abe called himself a "wood turner". Definitely "old school", which appeals to many of us I think.

    Frye vs (Abe) Rich cues

Abe? I don't know that I have handled enough of them to say. I have a few, just not the one I want. From what I have seen in general through that era, with the exception of the "top" makers, the materials, fit and finish was much the same among numerous makers. Abe didn't splice cues or do...

The earliest evidence I can find of any cues branded "Cobra" is in this May 1981 National Billiard News ad: I think obviously a different line of cues, but still interesting.

Some of the history is in this thread from 2016. Also, on the second page are the scans of the Cobra Professional pages from the Cobra catalog. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/looking-for-brochure-catalog-scan.427183/ Here are parts of some of the documentation I have. The mailing...

Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

I was kind of skipping this thread after the first few posts. I have a look now and it turned into a joint pin / joint type discussion. I have not read every post in this thread so forgive me if this link to an old thread was already posted. It always reminds me of this...

Question(s) for Bob Jewett or Dr. Dave, perhaps?

If you want to go that far, at the atomic level, the ball is mostly empty space. One could say they never actually touch. LOL! Yes, I am being facetious, I don't need a physics lesson. LOL!

I don't know. I figured it was custom but I was told it was original. It was in Brazil IIRC. I tried to buy it but was unsuccessful. All I have are pictures.

Ok. That one has the flute case lock that JB used on the GTF cases.

Does it seem like everyone is a Flipper / Reseller these days?

Liar? WTF? Cherry picking examples does not make you a liar. Trying to fake call me out like that isn't smart. I'm contributing here. https://jbcases.com/cases-for-sale-instock/leather-cases.html
