Anniversary Pro 8 Rehab and Moving a Table Yourself

Yep! I was thinking the same. Those bands should come off fairly easy.

    Savannah's home table?

Here is a link to that thread. I have no opinion one way or another. I can certainly see how someone who is a loyal Brunswick fan would want their GC to play as close to what they typically play on during tournaments...

    Savannah's home table?

Yes, Glen (RKC) over in the mechanics forum did that for a customer a few years ago. If I get a chance to find the thread I’ll post a link here.

    Right Handed vs Left Handed

I agree with all that cutting the 8 in the corner is a much better option. Your are probably not going to change his mind about shot selection though. Just flow with it and he will come around on his own.

How many still have the first cue they ever bought?

Yep, still have it. A McDermott D-2. I still remember the shop owner in Bossier City LA telling me, “Whatever you do, don’t take your eye off this cue, McDermotts are favorites among the thieves right now”. He had me so paranoid that I never took it out, except to play at the Air Force Base...

    WWYD Mar 1

I think Shaun chose the correct pattern, but obviously failed to execute. In my opinion his first draw shot was a bit too much which made his second shot a bit more challenging than it should have been.

    Pocket Facing Thickness Question

I think you mean 4 5/8”? Edit: Disregard my question. I forgot about the newer rule that side pockets tend to stay big compared to corners. The 1/2” rule no longer applies.

New rails for 8ft old Brunswick metro coin table

Yeah it looks like you need new rails. I see the one end rail is cracked all the way through from end to end, at least it appears that way in that pic. Give Mark Gregory a call @ (770) 548-4292. I’m not sure if he does Metro rails, or not, but won’t hurt to ask. He builds fabulous rails. I...

    Rusty's in Arlington,Tx closing...??

Thanks for the heads up about it closing. I had plans on driving from Abilene to Arlington and dropping the wife off at Parks Mall while I go donate money to the local economy at Rusty’s, but it looks like now I’ll have endure tagging along with the wife while she tries on shoes. I think I’d...

What do think about these pockets?

Just a guess, but maybe the wrong slate for the table/rails? Shelf is way too deep. What do the side pockets look like?

    Olhausen side pockets

Here is a pic of the typical side pocket setup for home tables with pocket irons. Notice the big hole in the end of the rail, that’s where the side pocket ear goes in, and the counterbored hole in the bottom (Top in this pic) is where the bolt and washer go that holds your pocket from swiveling...

    Olhausen side pockets

More than likely the pocket ear screws are loose. You will need to remove all the rail bolts and shift the top over enough to expose the screw heads. You can then tighten all those screws, and resecure the top with all the rail bolts. Be sure to not over tighten those screws.

    Let’s talk K66 rail options.

MBS makes a pretty good K-66 cushion.

    Diamond Pocket Alteration

Yeah it would be nice to have a spreadsheet that had all the angles, both down and mitre, for a given size pocket. I think you can still find what you are looking for by digging through the archives here. The good thing about doing searches, at least for me, is that you end up learning a lot...

    Diamond Pocket Alteration

141 should be good for 4.5 in corners. Use the search function, this topic has been covered really well.

Which table is easier if you had to beat the ghost for $1 million?

I still think the stock (unmolested) GC’s with its cavernous corners, and even bigger side pockets will be much easier than a Diamond of any variety. It’s hard to compare though because most of the GC’s have been tinkered with by now. I always loved to hear Grady talk about those cavernous...
