    Viking Double Thread joint

OK, great, thanks jayman. Balance point of the shaft is new to me. You can choose forward or rear. What do I have now? It's 10.5" from the joint face.

    Viking Double Thread joint

What I meant to ask is, will a shaft with a standard 5/16 x 18 joint screw directly onto my cue? With no adapters?

    Viking Double Thread joint

Thank you very much. I typed it in and just read your earlier thread on this. Would I need an adapter for a shaft with 5/16 x 18 threads? It looks like there are plenty of threads, but is there room for the pin?

    Viking Double Thread joint

This stainless steel joint is on a Viking cue I ordered back in '04. I'd like another shaft but Viking no longer offers this joint. The butt and shaft are both 31". I'm thinking of having a shop machine an adapter, allowing me to use another shaft with standard threads. The OD of the shaft...

I also want the pocket angle changed, so it does not spit he balls out. The shelves are too deep, because the last guy did not adjust for the replacement cushions. He...

    Big tables in Yuma?

Thanks for the information. I guess it’s hard to run a business when half the town bugs out for six months every year.

Netflix's Series Queen's Gambit and it's relation to pool (Walter Tevis)

I played in high school, in the early '60's, played in a big tournament in Seattle, won a couple games. I bought Fred Reinfeld's book on Queen Pawn openings. I still have it somewhere. Then I went into the service, found pool and poker, not much chess. I came back to chess several years...

    Pocket Advice, please

Joe is old school, frustrated with his smart phone, so he asked me to post a few photos. He said the guy charged $450 for the cloth and rubber plus $450 labor. Joe ordered new pockets and facing material on his own, can’t remember the price.

Joe said the installer brought the rails by yesterday and finished the installation. It looks great, price was more than fair. I'll leave it to him to fill you all in. He's got a new phone, trying to figure it out...

Just got off the phone with my brother Joey. Whoever it is will be there by nine this morning. Fastone: What size pockets? It looks challenging. :)

    Pocket Advice, please

I got an email from my brother. He was quoted $300 for new cushions, installed. Total with all new cloth could be $800, so he's going for it. What is the magic angle, 141°or something like that? Then there's a vertical angle to make the facings farther apart at table level than they are at...

I was watching a TV match, probably back in the '90's, and it was played on an Olhausen. All I can remember about the match was a five ball that looked good but didn't fall.

Thanks for the replys. I sent the link to this thread to my brother, haven't heard back from him yet. I told him to either sign up or use my log in details.

    Pocket Advice, please

My brother bought a Gold Crown 1 from a table supplier in Tacoma several years ago. He's using it more now, and complains the balls often rattle and hang up in the pockets. He thinks it's the way the rails are cut. I haven't asked how much he would spend on fixing it. Recommendations?
