Billiards guru craves the return of billiards in his Shenandoah Valley hometown.

Rooms were all over the country. Small cities had like 5 or more all over town.. Locals would play everyday of the week if they were open and it was a lot like Golf Courses I latter would attend. The comradery on a local room was a lot like the comradery at your local golf course. Gents could...

Thanks for posting the above. Looking through the pic's , Roanoke Red Terry, and Winner Beenie I knew along with Crabtree. All the others I never had the pleasure. Most were a bit before my time, but not by much. The Gent that ran Guy's and Dolls in Roanoke ( guessing they stole the name from...

    Anniversary/Centennial

The corner pocket castings for the anniversary should be the same for a centennial , at least the outside dimensions of the castings should be . Ask the mechanic section is what you should do. My 1946 cent I have had for about 20 years , with full restore about 5 years ago. Have recovered many...

    Anniversary/Centennial

Thinking they ,(ann, cent) are primarily the same table. Should have no problem with doing what you are looking to do. May have to drill some different mounting holes for the aluminum sides,, not sure but I would think that would be the worst of the problem.

    Danny D's cue(s).......??

Back in the mid 70's , had moved 30 miles to the big city of Martinsville Va. Met a Gent who would later be one of my great friends. Reid Young, attorney there in the area and about 4 or 5 years older. He had a little brother Kent , who had just passed away and by my understanding was close to...

    Help ID cue

What's the pin thread Tim? If it's 5/16 -18 I'm thinking it's a latter day Palmer. Thinking that from the looks of the cap at the bottom. It looks longer than most , and Palmer used them like that. By latter date,,late 70's to mid 80's Hope you are well.

    Cue Silk™ Table Cleaner Scam

Make sure to only use brake cleaner with out the chlorine in it. It will be on the label if it has the Chlorine,,do not use the product if it has chlorine , it will make the stain bigger if you do. Next suggestion , get rid of the Masters chalk and switch over to Toams Chalk. It's way more...

What did Herman Rambow & Ringo Starr have in common?

Hey Jude was one of my fav's,,but the best was when Wilson Pickett did it with an unknown guitar player , who later made a name for himself. Duane Allman. Pickett didn't wanna do it , but Duane talked him into it. Reached pretty high in the charts , even as a cover.

Hmm-wonder if the only ivory in the cue is the ferrule, would they take the whole cue or just the shaft? Have a friend that wants to know.

Is the Simonis X1 worth it for cleaning the Simonis 860?? I read the instructions and it says to rub back and forth with the X1 to clean the cloth.

After switching from Masters Chalk over to Toam , I haven't any problems with cleaning. I vacuum once a month and when needing to make a quick clean the X1 does a great job. Before when using the Masters , the X1 didn't live up to my expectations. Masters make too big a mess on the cloth IMO.

    Taom Chalk

I have stated that when using Toam chalk at home the chalk dust and the results of the table staying clean would be a great benefit to players that used the product. My wife was always complaining about chalk dust all around the room that would come off the table and float about and on to...

    RIP Pinklady.

Really had an immediate bummer hit when reading what happened here. I never met her but were friends on FB and here on AZ. I met Matt once years ago and he and a friend Rick Sonner came by my house here in Martinsville to unwind after the funeral of Ricks Sister. I had spoken with Pink Lady a...

    Taom Chalk

I can see from time to times some gold or yellow streaks across my cloth , but with masters chalk there was always a mess. I chalk up before each shot. preshot routine . The residue from the masters would get into the cloth and my hands were filthy all the time. Clean as I may , couldn't keep...

    Taom Chalk

I have used 4 cylinders of the chalk as of now and have 4 more stored. Christmas my wife bought me 5 more so now I have nine. My wife doesn't buy me stuff for my pool playing,,she bought the chalk because she noticed there wasn't a blue haze around the room of chalk dust that had settled on...

    Brunswick slate compatibility

Ive seen gold crown tables with one of the slates swapped out from another gold crown, and even then they don't match up. How bad is the slate you have? Is one piece messed up , or are all the 3 pieces junk. You should post the question about what your looking to do over on the ,,Ask the...
