Anyone have insight on why everyone is breaking from the side rail instead of the usual pop break from near the middle of the headstring?

Thank you, your cases are a huge inspiration for me! Now that I kind of know what it takes to build a case, it's made me appreciate even more the amount of time and hard work it takes to be a case maker. You guys should be charging way more for your products lol!

I dont know how other people do it, but I just stuck a long piece of 2x4 through the tube and laid the ends across two tables.

Thanks! For this first case, the lid is just going to be done in the usual style with snap fasteners on one side and a hinge ring on the other. I think we might have the same taste in color because I was originally going for more of a dark maroon color, which came out nicely on the test...

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated! Thanks for the input. The dye actually came out a different color than I expected, but it was a pleasant surprise. You're right, a case with just the brown would be amazing, perhaps an envelope style with some floral carving :smile:

Some updates on the cue case build... Getting a little more done everyday! Built the handle and attached it to the body:

Yea, that wouldn't be fun at all... actually the sewing was done while the body was still flat, so I could mount the whole thing onto a pair of stitching ponies. It was a little unstable, but still a lot easier than sewing inside a tube. Here's what it looked like:

Wow, oak blanks too? That is pretty awesome, would love too see that. One of my goals is to do a case with floral carving someday, but I would need a ton of practice to get my carving level up to where I want it to be.

When you've made list of people with home tables so you know who not to match up with when pool halls open up again :D
