For all you mechanics and do-it-yourselfers.

Yeah, take a razor knife and cut the bondo from once side to the other following the seam, then the bondo has no effect when you pull the slates apart. If they've been superglue, use a little acetone to dissolve the superglue

That's ok, the video wasn't really directed to you anyway, it's more for the table mechanics that want to improve their skills in order to increase their skills and do better work! And to start supporting a new wave of mechanics starting to realize this is a skilled industry, and those that do...

Pocket pouches when putting on new cloth

The problem with staples vs my adhesive when installing the bed cloth, is that the staples allow the cloth slack in the side pockets to stretch out more because you're holding the cloth tight at the backer boards, not at the top edges of the slate, so the cloth at that level stretches more...

Pocket pouches when putting on new cloth

Yeah, I've done that in the past as well, Mark Gregory and I discussed that almost 22 years ago, but I tend to reserve that for certain slates, not for all installs.

Pocket pouches when putting on new cloth

Ok, follow me here for a minute, then maybe you'll have a better understanding of how to figure out the stretch. Let's say you're figured out that you're doing a 1 1/2' stretch on a Diamond 7ft. Ok, the slate is 47" wide, so take that 1.5" of stretch, divide it by 47" and that gives you a...

Simonis 860 vs 860HR for home use

T The HR costs more to produce, that's why it's limited in its available colors.

Marking Simonis 760 for side pockets on an Antique Brunswick table

Call me, 702-927-5689 I'll tell you what the stretch index is, if not, then because your slates are not the full cut radius cuts, then cut the stretch index down by 50% on both sides pockets

So, are the old Gandy Big G tables really all that bad?

It's funny that you never hear these complaints about the Diamond tables from the players at the DCC, US Open 9 ball, the international 9 ball open, the APA nationals! But I guess that's just the difference between those players and you, they can actually play pool!

We don't have Diamonds in my area that don't work, because we have 3 table mechanics that maintain almost all the Diamonds, and they're all trained by me, so they either know how to fix them right, or they call me if they can't, then I tell them what to do to fix the table. And I'm talking about...

When coin operated pool tables get serviced, part of that service requires lifting the slate up and actually CLEANING the inside if the tables out with a vacuum cleaner to remove all the shit that builds up between recoveries! If that's NOT done, DON'T blame the tables! I have 100's of Diamonds...

I have 100's of Diamonds around where I live, and we just don't have any issues with them whatsoever! Maybe, it's who's doing the work in them that is the problem, or should I say NOT doing the work!!!

    Valley Pro Cat

Has 100% to do with who's working in them i have 100's of Diamonds around me, and none are having problems that I'm aware of, I'd know too, because I'm the one that gets the calls if they have problems!!!

    Pocket bolts

When you stick the pocket ear bolt in the hole, against the pocket ear, before you start to thread the bolt in, the head of the bolt should be sticking up about a 1/4" before you start threading it in. If it sticks up more than that, the bolt is to long.

First off, if a Diamond coin op isn't working right, it didn't start out that way, so place that blame on who ever works on them, not Diamond. You've been out of touch with the Diamond tables if you're still talking about how they play so fast, I changed that design 15 years ago for Diamond...
