Is this a snooker table or a pool table?

In the US golf is usually on 10' snooker tables with very small pockets. In Canada on 12' tables with correct pockets. But pool on a 10' is so serene, I would chose pool.

    Tip size

Can anyone here get 8' of draw from 8' feet away with a snooker cue (9.5-10.5mm)? Surly the stiffness of the larger shaft gives more power.

    guess the tables

Is that World of Billiards, from maybe, Toronto, Canada? They sold to Dufferin about 1982-3 for a dime on the dollar I was told. They put their 20 yr-old son in charge and he produced some innovative designs. But they never got over the idea of "floating slate" which didn't need to be screwed...

    'Zeki' tables from Turkey.......

Oh boy! I asked Zeki how the slate is levelled and they sent me this video on the Master - fanciest - table being set up. It has a steel frame that the slate is bolted to. To me this is the be-all and end-all of keeping the table level. Woodscrews and shims: pshaw. The pockets are regular...

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

I have my dream money-making poolhall after 43 years and will be expanding because there are waiting lists most nights. There are 21 - nine’s of many fancy and technical makes, because even total duffers prefer more acreage for their rental dollar; and 4 - seven’s, which fit between the columns...

    Help!! Bondo/Body Putty removal

Use a slot screwdriver (or even a chisel you don't value highly) and give it a tap. Turns out the stuff just chips. Sometimes the whole thing pops out at once. It only needs to hold more filler so you needn't be too fussy. Bondo beats water-putty 1983, which beat Plaster of Paris 1981. Forty...

    10ft Snooker Table

You said: I am on the look out for a used 10 or 12ft Snooker Table. And now you'll us: A traditional English table would be nice but I'm not too bothered if it's in a pool table style.

    10ft Snooker Table

Near you? No. Affordable? They are being given away in British Columbia, Canada. Cliff Thorburn, the first non-British world champion of snooker, hails from Victoria where one 12’ is now too many in my poolhall; it stands empty at night while we have a waitlist for pool tables. On Marketplace...

Wow, Maha. I didn't know 'umbrella'. You only missed four, by my count: REST = bridge; ON is the ball you have to hit next; CALL = nominate the ball & pocket CHERRY = red ball in snooker; Brazilian rosewood cue by Dufferin was $95 Canadian retail back then. Wish I had a photo of one.

Have you ever lost your cue?

My teenage son left my Helmstetter (sp?) on the table in my own poolhall and it was stolen. But three days later a kid comes in and asks if we buy used cues or could we put it on consignment. The clerk recognized it, held onto it, and asked if he wanted to wait while Mr Peacock comes down to...
