    End of the US Open?

Not only that, but I think the top 128 only can get invited to those types of events... And also, players using qualifiers as entry can will be limited to number of open events allowed to play.

    End of the US Open?

If the players are under contract, they might not be able to play these events. So an event like Turning Stone could have no top pro players (potentially). I wonder how many would attend without the big names in the event?

    End of the US Open?

I think turnout would be low. As other people here call it "dead money" players won't travel to lose to other "dead money". I've spent thousands traveling for a chance to play the Fillers, Earls, SVBs etc.. Why would I travel to US to play a qualifier that I can't win, and no chance of playing...

    End of the US Open?

I played an 810 on stream in Qatar and lost 9-8. I'm in the 660s, so the stars can align at times. haha. I can't imagine not having the chance to play against them in future events. Its what separated us from all other pro sports IMO. The average local got to play the best in the world...

    End of the US Open?

I enjoy watching it.. You get to see the pro firing on all cylinders. Crazy some of the shots they can make but don't try against other top level guys. Obviously I wouldn't want to see the slaughter fulltime, but it has its place.. And who knows, maybe a hack like me might take one them to the...

    End of the US Open?

Some are players out there work fulltime and have pool as a hobby but play strong. Vacation to them is practicing a few weeks before a major event and playing against the top players in the world - others are fine staying locally. That's what was great about it, options for everyone.

    End of the US Open?

The current venue has next to zero seating until final table. Horrible for spectators but incredible as a player (minus the 4In pockets)

    End of the US Open?

You think an amateur will win qualifiers? A lot of great players not ranked in top 128. And, who wants to spend a few thousand to fly in for a qualifying event then more time off and $$ spent to attend the US Open if happen to win a spot? Online registration allowed anyone, anywhere to enter...

    End of the US Open?

Now that matchroom released all Open events are "Closed" to professional and qualified players, are we seeing the end of the US Open? I don't understand the move because the base of viewers for pool is, pool players. We don't have a large viewing audiences like other sports and next to zero...

    CF shafts cold temperatures

Stroke stays same most of time because of snooker background. I'm going to stick the shaft back in my vehicle for a day and try again.

    CF shafts cold temperatures

Anyone try playing with a CF shaft that was left in cold temperature? I waited few minutes for cues to warm but found the shaft was deflecting. The front few inches was warm to touch but the middle stayed cool for a while. After an hour or so started hitting normal. Curious if experience was...

    Billy Thorpe gone wild!

His actions and definitely words used during the entire video are horrible for the sport. The people caring will be sponsors and anyone trying to market an event. Unless they want a 'Trailer Trash Open', it's tough to sell this as a "professional" sport or the face of a product. Personally I...

    Billy Thorpe gone wild!

Watched 2 homeless guys fight over a shopping cart once. Hard to tell the difference, but about as marketable. Bitch, Fag, Pansy... hopefully equals no more Mosconi Cup for that idiot.

I fell for the Carbon Fiber Hype

Maybe this JB shaft is defective, but I can tell you that compared to a 314 with around a 12.5mm tip (jacoby 12.3).. the 314 deflects much, much less. slow, med, or firm hits the JB takes off immediately. They explained the CF shafts are stiff. This doesn't allow the shaft to move out of way...

I fell for the Carbon Fiber Hype

I have a perfectly good 314 and wouldn't switch for different wood LD. I wanted to try CF for the extra spin/power created. I did call and let them know the issue, as I stated above. The reply was - it's normal for that shaft. I don't live in the USA and there isn't another JB in my area to...

I fell for the Carbon Fiber Hype

I would have tried one extensively but unfortunately l live in a remote area with zero JB within driving distance. On a trip 1000 miles from home I had a chance to hit 4 or 5 balls. Again, I was just checking the sound and feel compared to REVO. It was a tough decision and now I'm paying the...

I fell for the Carbon Fiber Hype

The product advertises as ultra low deflection. Hope/expectations was high based on all other CF shafts claims and the LD description. At minimum if JB delivered same performance as wood LD, I wouldn't mind. I did hit with a Jacoby Black but it was just strictly for sound and feel. compared...
