Looking for thoughts about 5 old unknown cue shafts?

I have the cue that is second from the right, here are the pics. Not really sure what kind it is as I purchased it from a guy at the pool hall in salt lake. I keep thinking it's an action cue. That being said, the one thing I can tell you is that the inlays and stuff are not real, plastic...

    World Pool Masters Stream

There's a lot of skill involved in getting lucky though, sometimes. Can't get lucky unless you have guts to shoot it in the first place.

    Magic Ball Rack - Negatives?

I like the mzgic rack for 9 ball, I find the 8 ball rack doesn't work as well though and end up using regular rack instead.

Do diamond tables make you play better?

I feel like the pockets are easier on valleys, the pockets seem to just swallow up anything in the vicinity compared to the diamonds that seem to rattle in the pocket when shot is not precise or the correct speed. The rails on Diamonds always seem so much more predictable from table to table...

    Park City, Utah recommendations

As far as pool community, getting action, getting quality opponents... Big Willies. Just no 9' :(. They had one until recently.

    Park City, Utah recommendations

Unfortunately Salt Lake has been gutted of places to play on 9 feet. Your best bets in SLC are to go to Big Willies on 17th and main (all newer diamonds 7ft, and a 12' golf table), and Delton Lanes on 35th south in west valley city (around 10 older style gold crowns, all simonis, with 3-4...

💡💡Banking "by the rail" is LUCK!!

I saw Jerry Karsh shoot a 9 rail shot in denver and the cue ball stopped EXACTLY where he said it would. Never seen so much SKILL in my life when it came to shooting the rails.

Choosing a Table - Caught on the horns of a dilemma

If I had it to do over again if money was no object though, I would get a diamond for sure. Simply because they were a lot less noisy which is a huge plus for the home environment when the wifey goes to bed. This was somethig I failed to consider before purchasing. Noise is a huge factor if...

Choosing a Table - Caught on the horns of a dilemma

I agree with the price being a concern for the GC. I picked up a GC2 last year (probably not quite as nice as the one you are looking at) for 1200 and paid 1050 more to have the rails redone, pockets resized, and new simonis 760 on it. 2250 out the door.

Looking for Info on my grandfather Wallace "Wally" Ohran.

I'm having a ball reading through all this stuff, really great. I've been lurking AZB unable to post for some reason for over a year, but finally shot the email out to admin to fix problem. This part "I would also print documentation, everything you can find out about it including the...

Nail on the head, Apparently Harvey and Tex worked together in some capacity. The Harvey miller documented here as their circa 1950's version is crazy for me to look at. Identical. http://www.billiardq.ws/harvey_martin.htm

I knew you all would know where to look! I'm ecstatic, the cues and descriptions in that thread are a dead ringer for my cue. SO COOL. I've had it for almost 20 years, nobody I ever showed it to could really tell me much. AZB FTW!

Looking for Info on my grandfather Wallace "Wally" Ohran.

He said he played 9 ball and 3C, 3C being his main game, but harder to find others that play as time went along etc etc. Could never sell the cue of course, but definitely curious what it would be worth even if just for insurance purposes. If anyone has any rec's on who I may be able to go...

Looking for Info on my grandfather Wallace "Wally" Ohran.

For really only getting one story out of him, it's a good one. My grandfather went on the road looking for "pidgeons" as he called them. He traveled to a small mining town in california where there was your classic main bar for the whole town type of thing. He set up shop and worked his way...
